Buying a new drill - Corded or Cordless?

Dewalt is 4.7 pounds for a Drill/Driver 18v. 4.0 lbs for Lithium-Ion. Fein BOP 10 is 3.9 pounds and can make a Dewalt look like a kid's toy. :pimpflash

Buying a new drill - Corded or Cordless?

Thanks. I had a Dewalt and it died on me. The friggin chuck was wobbling. Returned it to Amazon for a full refund! What do you think about Festool? Money is not an issue here but they do cost quite a bit. In access of 500 bucks for a drill is a LOT of money where I could get a Metabo for $150...

^ ok, makes sense then. Go for it! :) Xuron makes quality stuff. I have these except mine are 48 deg angled. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003XNTA2K/?tag=atomicindus08-20 If you have Amazon prime, its free shipping. These cut full flush and are VERY sharp. I could cut through guitar strings like...

    How old is it?

Dude, you need a better camera/lens. Pictures are too out-of-focus to make out anything. Cool dial gage though.

    Mini Precision cutters/pliers

^ Doesn't look very impressive. I'd give Wiha or Xcelite a try...they're into this business for a long time. I don't understand the Snap-on obsession. They make good quality mechanic's tools. But, if you're looking for a toothbrush...you should really buy a Snap-on toothbrush simply because of...

Buying a new drill - Corded or Cordless?

I've noticed that cordless drills can often be used to drive screws since they have a torque ring. I haven't seen any corded drills that could be used as drivers.

Buying a new drill - Corded or Cordless?

Simple question: how important is it to buy a cordless drill? I am in for a proper investment and wanted to avoid batteries and such that only last a few years. If I buy a corded drill, no worries about replacing batteries/running out of juice. Not to mention - higher torque and lighter weight...

DeWalt DCD970KL 18V cordless drill died on me :-/

Hey guys, The ****** thing died on me! :headscrat I bought it in March and started using it for drilling small holes in aluminum sheet metal. The fricking chuck/shaft started wobbling and produced holes larger than the drill bit size!!! Send it back to Amazon (Thanks! Amazon has the best...

    Objective comparison of Snap-on?

This is all good information. Some people have broken it down for me :) Thanks guys! I am probable going to buy some Snap-on tools and try them out.

    Objective comparison of Snap-on?

Guys: I think the question imposed is not intended for trolling purposes. I am a young guy and will be investing soon on quality tools. Sure, there is nothing wrong in being biased towards a brand but purely from a technical perspective, what makes Snap-on tools so damn desirable? I think this...

    Objective comparison of Snap-on?

Is there any objective comparison done on Snap-on tools vs. lets say - Craftsman? I've been searching all over the net and couldn't find why people are so crazy over Snap-on tools. I don't know if there is an objective way of measuring "quality" but one can do metrology on say machining...

    Micro screwdriver set suggestions?

OP - You won't be disappointed by Wiha PicoFinish. I ordered the regular ones and then switched to Wiha PicoFinish. They have nice rubbery grip to apply sufficient torque with minimal slippage. Heck, I got every single Wiha PicoFinish screwdriver - Phillips, Slotted, Nuts drivers (inch...

    Suggestion for Sheet Metal Tools

Well, I live in an apartment (Recent graduate, CAN'T wait to save up some money to buy a house...*drools*) and space is a constrain. :-( So, I really cannot bring in a massive sheet metal shear or a table saw. What about a jig-saw? I have a couple of C-clamps to clamp the sheet on my desk...

    Suggestion for Sheet Metal Tools

Hi guys, I am building an Aluminum frame for my Quadcopter. I need to cut anywhere between 12 gauge to very thin Aluminum sheet metal. I got some Claus aviation snips and they sucked, so I returned them. They left serrations on the edges of the sheet metal. Overall, the edge wasn't cleanly cut...
