Beer recycling device is finally installed

That bottle of bleach concerns me. Years ago, I mistakenly tried to clean an area with bleach after ammonia did not work. The mixture releases chlorine gas which is very dangerous. Urine contains ammonia. Beware!

I agree. Crazy thing is I can take off the FEL and put it back on with no problems half a dozen times in a row and then the next time it argues with me. Amen to the "lot of work". Managed to finish dragging the drive this morning. Got the box blade dismounted and put away. Got the new deck belt...

Since the high temps have been hoovering in the mid 90s, I am definitely in my summer activity pattern. For the past several mornings, it was outside to run the brush cutter for a while and then onto the tractor to mow or into the shop to maintain the mower deck. The left front gauge wheel was...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Out to the shop to gather the brush cutter and spare battery then down to the woods to cut brush till I was sweat soaked. Back to the shop to put the brush cutter away and reweld the left front gauge wheel bracket on the mower deck. Then check the right front gauge wheel - looks like its been...

Last reality check before I pull the trigger on a garage build.. 30x40 for 100k?

Perspective is everything - location, year built, diy or hired, materials, features and other factors make direct comparisons almost impossible. That is why I did not say his price was too high or too low. You point out the CPI would make my figure about $60k today, but that is still a lot less...

Last reality check before I pull the trigger on a garage build.. 30x40 for 100k?

To a guy who stick built his own 1200 sq ft shop in NE Oklahoma 34 years ago including all electric, sheetrock, insulation, 3 - 16/8 roll-up doors , walk-in door, shop bathroom, air, heat, re-siding once and re-roofing once for under $25,000, that price is shocking!

    Buying a workbench

OP My personal experience is that one can build a very satisfactory and stout workbench in one morning with 2x4 lumber and plywood that most suppliers will pre-cut to sizes that will fit in a car. There are many threads on here that show workbench designs from simple to exotic. If you are...

It's been a bit over 4 months since my bike wreck. I am still doing physical therapy, but feel like I am back to full range of motion and close to full strength. Been thinking about getting back on the bike for a couple of weeks, so the last couple of days I have worked on the bike to see if...

Thinking about paving driveway - things to look out for?

It seems this thread is devolving into a debate between asphalt and concrete - which, in the opinion of the OP, is off topic. To further clarify, I have large concrete aprons in front of both my house and my shop where all parking is done. What I am interested in paving is the gravel that...

Thinking about paving driveway - things to look out for?

I am thinking about having my driveway paved and am looking for information to help me make an informed decision. The driveway was built 36 years ago by first removing about 8" of topsoil and then laying 3" gravel during construction phase on house. This was followed by 3/4 inch gravel and...

Estimate for new garage, advice needed

Find a different contractor! That quote has way too many loopholes in it. The way I read it, he is quoting a charge for the door openings but not including the doors which are to be installed by someone else and he is not specific about the number of doors. When I first researched building a...
