Pry bar under the flywheel while you whack the end of the crankshaft once with a hammer. MAKE SURE the nut is flush with the END OF THE CRANK when you do this otherwise you WILL mess up the threads.

    Heated garage and rust theory

My wife bought her car brand new. A 2008 Mercury Milan. I always let her use the garage during the winter. I keep it heated but only to about 40°. Being in central NY there is a lot of salt used on the roads. She just sold it and bought a new car, mainly because it was rusting so bad. It was...

    waste oil heat?

On an actual waste oil furance thats fine. On a bone stock fuel oil furnace you're trying to run waste oil thru it wont work though and the nozzles will plug very easily.

    waste oil heat?

Screw on filters like for a car wont go to a low enough micron rating. You can use a house waterfilter, those will go down to 5 micron, or i think even 2 microns. When I was playing around with it i had a pump setup to transfer oil from one drum to another. I'd pump off the top 2/3's from one...

    waste oil heat?

The other problem you will run into is that the flame is MUCH longer on a waste oil furnace. It will hit the back wall and burn it out quickly! Its neat to learn about them, but unless you really want another hobby, i HIGHLY suggest buying an actual waste oil furnace. Trust me, i tried to. It...

    waste oil heat?

It's not as simple as you think. You have a fuel oil furnace, not a waste oil furnace. It can be converted but will take time and money. Mainly time. Check out altfuelfurnace on Yahoo. Years of info there. They WILL expect you to read A LOT before you just ask questions though so be warned. Oil...

    Radiant floor system

How much room do you have? IE Land? Could you do a geothermal? If you have equipment and time the pipe is cheap... thats almost free heat. I have heard of people even just burying the pipe, putting the PEX in the slab, then filling the system with water and using a pump to circulate it. Wouldnt...

Box stores dont/cant sell the upper end Husqvarna, only dealers can. BTW, the GT54LS has the K66 transaxle if that is a concern of yours. Other models do also but i cant remember them off the top of my head

2-part "where do I begin?" question from Central NY

Yep sounds right on track. Now remember, site prep isnt cheap. If youre paying someone and the ground is basically level, i bet you'll still have 10k into it. Concrete will be more than that...

And i would bet those are from Lowes units too. It actually has nothing to do with where they are from, but rather the type of people that buy them. And I work at a Husqvarna dealer. I have yet to replace one under warranty. Matter of fact EVERY SINGLE ONE since I've worked there, (10 years) has...

1966 F100 EcoBoost Engine Swap (EcoBoosted)

You would be amazed at some little things that make a difference. Like mudflaps & bug guards. At 60mph they drop your mpg a combined .5mpg Flush mounted glass makes a difference mpg wise, which is aero of course. Mirrors, basically any opening on the front end of a vehicle. Use duct tape to...

And I bet you stomp on the pedal then switch to reverse quick too. Sorry but you're not a light guy... Tons of evidence huh, Like how out of all the riding mowers I repair for a living, I only have an average of two per year that fail? Huh.... that must be it. SMDH

I have never had a single deck that I welded come back for the same bracket broken... either someone cant weld, or you're beating the **** out of it. BTW, I weld more John Deere decks than i do any other brand. Most are the Lowes box store specials.

    (It's) Riding lawn mower time

I sell tractors for a living, the ONLY people that have transmission issues with riding LAWN mowers, beat the **** out of them. Whether it's because they drive hard then slam them in reverse, tow too much weight, or use them for lawns too big. Ahh excuse me, I do have one customer that wasn't...
