Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT It's true. Build it bigger than you think.

That is the one thing I didn't spend the money on: plumbing. It would have been quite expensive to get to the existing septic (if the town had even approved it), and the water would have been $$, too, due to the entire backyard being a septic and drain field. I am careful not to get anything...

Thank you. I am very thankful and blessed to have it.

    Safety First

The road I live on is a main artery into our town. Due to the population explosion, it has gotten very busy over the last ten years. I have to cut grass on the shoulder of the road, and I try to keep a watchful eye out for distracted drivers. So, to get their attention, I wired LED strobes to...

    Inverter/Generator

I am selling a new, in-the-box Simpson 4500W Inverter/Generator that I purchased at a liquidation sale. I decided I didn't need it. It weighs 110 lbs to calculate the shipping from zip 27520. I don't think Simpson manufactures this model any longer, but they sell new models online for $1299. I...

Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT It's true. Build it bigger than you think.

I finished my 28 x 36 detached garage earlier this year and am amazed at how quickly I filled it up. I guess it's also growing on me and seeming smaller, but I wish I had pulled the trigger on the 4th bay while I was at it. I can always add on at some point, I suppose.

Help me decide on a 4 post lift

I purchased the WildFire XLT almost a year ago. It's a replica of the Advantage DX 9000 XLT. It is $1k cheaper than the Advantage, but after factoring in shipping charges from WildFire to a shipper, the Wf was slightly cheaper then. The only plus to the Advantage is that if you live close...

So I've been thinking of getting a car/truck lift in my garage....

As you can see, it's a vanilla vs. chocolate question. I have the Wild Fire 9K four post with a bridge jack and am very happy with it. I intend to put a second bridge jack on it soon. I won't bash the two-post lifts, but the four-post suited me better for my needs.

    Ghost Shield Eco Etch 1001

I used it about two months ago on a brand-new slab. I was a little worried as you are, but it is holding up so far. I know time will tell. I will tell you that my final results with the process were disappointing, but it was a total user error. I have a 26 x 36 floor. I chose not to fill the...

    Beginner welder with Circuit Question

I recently purchased an ArcCaptain Mig200 multi-process welder. I am learning to weld and will more than likely take a welding class at some point. A good friend told me to just get a welder and learn. Obviously, I won't be welding trailer hitches anytime soon, but for around-the-house and...

I feel like a kid at Christmas!

Couldn't tell ya. Makes no difference to me in my current configuration. Hindsight, I would have cathedraled the whole ceiling with high rise tracks. If I ever need more lifts for storage, I can have the tracks raised. Doubt I ever need such, but ya never know.

I feel like a kid at Christmas!

Garage is 26 x 36. 10' walls. It's almost 14' at the peak of the cathedral. I can't explain why I didn't make the whole garage cathedral. Woulda shoulda coulda.

I feel like a kid at Christmas!

Great observations. Attic access is clear. Lift goes in middle bay with high rise track follow the roof track on a cathedral ceiling. We're good.

I feel like a kid at Christmas!

My garage is finally built, and I am working on my floors today. I am going with a Polyurea floor, which I bought from Garage Flooring, LLC. They have been very helpful and informative and suggested a telephone walk-through of the process, which we did. I highly recommend them. I ordered my 4...

Quatro Stacker Heavy Duty — Four-Post Lift 9,000 LB

My garage is almost complete and I am ready to get a lift on order. Someone asked about this lift back in 2018 without any replies. I am resurrecting the question. Does anyone have any experience with the Quatro Stacker lifts from the LiftSuperStore? They are located in Canada, but a...

Asphalt Drive and Concrete Trucks...Oh My

Update: I had a quad dump truck with a load of dirty rock fill and two cement trucks on the drive this week. Thankfully, only minor to medium cracking was on one edge and in one spot. I guess it is all about that base.

    Fill and Geotextile Fabric

Hello everyone. I finally got my permit in hand today, so I am excited to get started on my detached garage. I have slightly under 3 feet of fall in grade from the front of the garage to the rear. My rear 8" CMU wall will be about 4' tall from the top of the footing. I won't know until I dig the...

Asphalt Drive and Concrete Trucks...Oh My

Actually no. The house was built 40 years ago. Asphalt is about 5 years old.
