    New House, New Shop

Thank you xtremek. So true... on both points. I hit the cold of winter just after we put up the building last fall. I was happy to just get the insulation and OSB up. No steady heat source to speak of (only a propane blaster) to paint so it was put off until we had the temps and time... as the...

    New House, New Shop

The 3 main walls are done! I got the air line and the electrical back on the bench wall today. The tall cabinet back in the corner. Now I start running the electical on the other wall while I have everything stacked in the middle of the shop.

    Between 265 & 485 SQ/FT 1950s Craftsman Garage retro remodel

Red Leader, thank you for sharing your build with us. I have spent a good day looking and "stealing" ideas to use in future projects, thanks! I especially loved the wood inlay of the floor and the epoxy you used. Very impressive attention to detail. I am sure there are more nuggets to be found...

    New House, New Shop

We think alike. I had the same idea. I plan on caulking the joints before I paint it... I don't like the gaps either... Picked up the paint today, It's gonna look awesome! Taking the bench apart and getting it powder coated is another project...

    New House, New Shop

Sure it will look better when it's done... then I can finally clean up the bench. The lil woman said I should paint the bench to match the cabinets while I'm at it. She doesn't like the blue rails. So I added that to the ToDo list, thanks dear! Anyway, since I used OSB for the paneling I had...

    Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT A trip back from the edge.

I can relate to "age finally catching up to me" and sometimes I wish I had taken better care of this body had I known I would live so long. Time definately has a way of catching up to you and making one aware of it. I am at the point of being almost done with the "need to do" things in the...

    Old Man New Shop

I like the way you think... nice big shop and moving along steadily. I am enjoying how this has progressed so far. Thanks for sharing!

    New House, New Shop

Thanks for noticing... The "Boss" said it should look like the window. So I got some blue tape and grey paint, measured it off over the tan and sprayed it. Made some major points for that since she only asked for it a few days before...

    Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT A trip back from the edge.

Thanks for dropping by and giving me a nudge to get moving. :willy_nil Do you have longer days there... ? I don't seem to have enough time in the day here to get all that needs doing done! Maybe you just have more energy? If you tell me where you can buy more time, I'll be happy to keep your...

The Derelict Ranch: The New Derelict Garage

Oh what an adventure... We have the Old Model T Ranch here. It's a wrecking yard or a wonderful portal into a time long past. I see things in your pictures that make me smile. More like an adventure worth taking... It looks like you have a good handle on the place so far. The rats and...

    Ye Old Garage

Re: Yea Old Garage What a wonderful old wood shop... looks a lot like the one my granddad had when I was growing up, sans the pit. He built hot rods and I loved to go down under the cars and look at the them from the dirty side while he and my uncles worked on them. His had the old sliding...

    New House, New Shop

@xtremek...Yes, I ****. So... I guess I have been a bit slow in my updates... sorry. I had the MRI done and finally found a good sports doctor to evaluate my shoulder. He said he wouldn't do surgery on it since the rotator cuff isn't torn 50% only a bit frayed. All he wants me to do is exercise...

    New House, New Shop

I had this AC unit that was needing a window to sit in... it sits right over the work bench too! When I got it installed the lil woman said the spacer panel needs to match the window so I taped off the grid and sprayed grey paint over it to make it simulate the window.

    Workshop 88

Looks like you are well on your way to having a nice & comfy shop to work in. One step at a time and a lot will get done, eventually. I tend to plan too much and rethink it again as I implement the plan... but eventually it all comes together the right way, at least for me. I tend to get more...

    New House, New Shop

The Bike Lift Pit Set started today! After a few months of bad weather and shoulder therapy I finally pulled the trigger on the Bike Lift pit set job. The cutters showed up and were gone in a few hours. This is going to be not too hard on the shoulder... famous last words. It looks like I have...

    New House, New Shop

Added some shade I have been laid up for the past few months and doing therapy on a torn up shoulder. Haven't done much around the shop as you could guess. But, I did manage to put up some heavy duty tarps for shade across the front. It allows airflow and blocks the afternoon sun nicely. I...

    Motorcycle Garages Only

Since I started my shop project last fall I am finally ready to pit set my lift too. I have the concrete cutters quote and waiting for the budget to do it. It was very reasonable since I got the friend of the family special... I am hoping to start in a week or two myself.

    40 x 60 Snake River Shop

Very nice! We ride down your way every summer so I will keep an eye on the build and hope to see it in person this summer... I like the second floor and would probably put in a few windows overlooking the shop just to maintain the openess and airy feeling!
