    The vintage Blackhawk Thread

I would sell my Jack if anyone is interested. It’s just the way it was when I bought it. I planned to fix it up but right now I’m thinking of moving and would like to thin things out a bit. It’s just like the first pic in this thread and I did post some pics of it on this thread if I remember...

    The Milwaukee addiction thread! :)

Well I ended up buying a 2 tool combo from Home Depot on the internet on Black Friday. It’s the 12V Brushless Drill and Impact combo with two batteries and charger. I also bought the two extra 3.0 Batteries and charger kit so I could have one tool at work and one at home with two batteries and...

    The Machine Work Thread

I will be going through it, but I probably won’t do much at all until I’m done with school in the early summer. I thought this one might be a pieced together lathe but I pulled the tailstock off and the serial number matches the bed, so it’s mainly the paint making it look Frankensteinish.

I bought and brought home this new to me Hardinge HLV-H Friday. It looks pretty crappy but I plan to go through it.

How important is it to have a “Brushless” motor? Do they last longer or?

    Milwaukee Power Tools Deal Permathread

I’d like to have the Milwaukee 12V Fuel Impact for use at work, mainly for faster work of removing and installing allen heads. I can’t seem to find a decent deal though. I know the Milwaukee has more amps than the Bosch, but for the price I can’t hardly seem to justify buying a milwaukee when...

    The Machine Work Thread

Thanks, That’s a lathe at work, so I had to make it in such a way that I didn’t modify or drill anything. Yes it could get in the way, but I had a lot of holes to drill at 2 and 3 inches, and 20-30 turns of the handle each time gets very old really quick. Sometimes I was thinking: was that 18...

    A Means To An End

When I make a part or “something” I get a sense or feeling of accomplishment I won’t otherwise get just sitting on the couch watching tv or watching someone else do it.

    BLACKHAWK S13 resto project

Does that model have a key and lock? I’d like to know since I have a different Blackhawk but it has a lock. I wonder if a locksmith could make me a key.

I like it. Did you use studs in the stars then put a nut and lock washer on the back of the board or?

Someone School me on Surface Grinders please.

So I’m doing my stint in the Tool Room in my Apprenticeship for Machine Repair. I’m currently running surface Grinders, manual mostly but I did run the Automatic once to grind big 12” parallels. I’ve been on the grinders now for about a month and I can see what an asset they could be in a...

Vulcan Pro 165 Tig welder. Anybody have and or use one yet?

I just got this email from Harbor Freight yesterday and noticed they have a new Tig welder. I remember they came out with one a while back, Is this just an improvement over that one or a totally different machine? Reviews please, or maybe someone already started a thread on it???
