Today, I am charging all the various batteries I have for my yard equipment. I store them in the laundry room in the basement, but then charge them in the (unheated) garage periodically during the winter. They seem to hold up better this way.

For side covers (at least on my Honda CL175 I want to fix up at some point), if they are in good condition (i.e. no cracks or fatigue damage on the posts), they can be upwards of $100 - $200 each. Cheap cracked ones are more common and cheaper, but I'd rather have something that won't break...
