Need new track saw - Makita, Milwaukee?

Thanks for that write-up. I always told myself I don't need a track saw but after reading this and being invested in Bosch I started looking, especially with Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals popping up. I ended up buying a CPO factory reconditioned GKS18V-25GCN-RT, which I think is the same...

    Extension cord for DeWalt batteries

Sounds like a corded version of the tool is what you need.

Why do Metric socket sets skip some sizes?

In the rare case that I do encounter a bike without QR I just use my pliers wrench. Seriously, just carry an adjustable wrench or spend $4.50 at Menards for 15mm combo. Me, I prefer the Knipex because it's way cooler. :) Edit: and by removing cranks, I hope you meant removing pedals, else you...

    Redundant Spark Plug Sockets

I'm just thankful this wasn't posted in the wrong sub-forum. Non-tool posts in the General Tool Discussion forum are the worst!

    9mm Wrench

touché My pliers wrench would take that off easy peasy :) I'm guessing anyone with $2,000 wheel and track bike either has a mechanic do all of the work or owns every Park tool, including the 15 mm combi wrench and 15 mm cone wrench.

    9mm Wrench

Meh, likely a department store bike. Adjustable wrench is good enough. :)

Track Saw, MLCS 4 1/2" Any experience?

For an "every now and then" occasion I would just use a straight edge and circular saw.

    Tekton Price Increase Notification

Oh really? https://www.investopedia.com/ask/answers/102714/whats-difference-between-profit-margin-and-markup.asp#:~:text=The%20main%20difference%20between%20the,to%20the%20final%20selling%20price. So if you bought a wrench for $1 and I bought the same model for $1.50, how much more percent did...

    Tekton Price Increase Notification

You are confusing profit margin with markup. They are not the same. Price increase from $1 to $1.50 is 50% increase, not 33.3% increase.

    Tekton Price Increase Notification

You can get most of the Amazon sockets in a few days, and in many cases, the next day or overnight, free shipping. Additionally, you can get the socket the same day at Menard's, HD, Lowe's, HF etc., so not sure why you want to pay extra for Tekton.

Adjustable wrench vs Plier wrench (i.e. Knipex)

Unless that is a left hand threaded fastener you are using the pliers wrench wrong. The way that the pliers wrench is on the nut, you would want to rotate clockwise, which would not budge it loose. You need to reverse the pliers wrench, This is why people say they have to apply lots of force to...

Most powerful cordless stick vacuum for use as a shop vac?

Not a stick, but I like my Bosch 18V. I attached a strap to it and can carry it around on my shoulder. Picked it up late last year for $129, and got free 4Ah battery and charger.

    Tektron tool quality

OF course, the one I picked was 28% cheaper, so I stand corrected. Everything else seems normal price. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08C23944W/?tag=atomicindus08-20

    Tektron tool quality

Warranty is likely the last thing I consider when I buy these sorts of hand tools. I have Stahlwille wrenches, Wera sockets and ratchets, and know I won't be able to get easy warranty, especially considering I bought them from Germany. I also have CM, Tekton, HF, and Husky sockets and ratchets...

    Best Makita drill

I'm confused. Your title says best drill, but then you went and bought basically a homeowner grade kit with 1.5Ah batteries that it looks like they don't even have on their site anymore. Since you have a bunch of batteries already I would return the kit and buy the XFD14Z for roughly the same...

good flat portable table saw, and Rousseau 2780/2790

For the price of the Rosseau just use that money and get the Bosch 4100 with gravity rise stand. I have the saw and the fence is easy to adjust and always parallel to the blade. Pneumatic tires should allow it to be transported up/down stairs relatively easily.

    Anyone else like Knipex?

Don't forget the Cobra 100. So cute.
