Here are three different examples of Craftsman Reed Prince 4114 Wester Forge screwdriver. I seem to remember a very old Craftsman with the Reed & Prince crossed screws logo on the shaft, but I may be remembering that wrong. For these, the top one is the oldest, sometime pre-1970.

This is nothing compared to what others have posted, but it was my first attempt at restoring a vise that I did over the summer. It turned out pretty good considering my general lack of patience.

Well - I also see Vanadium BF 'Made in USA' screwdrivers listed on eBay so 'Would that it were so simple...' anyway, this one being an odd color and the lack of a USA designation, I would still bet Japan in this case.

BF denotes a Japanese made product: BF = probably Daido, possibly KTC, Japanese made, ca 1969 - 1987 Since the Craftsman logo has pointed A's which were dropped about 1970, this should be a 1969-ish driver if all that information is correct.

After watching a mrpete222 video on Removing Drill Press Chucks (skip to 3:33) I dug around a bit more and found this 1974 Jacobs catalog on the http://vintagemachinery.org/ website. Looking at the highlighted image on the front, I'm thinking that this could certainly be a Jacobs 633C chuck...

@11b30b4 - Once again, very impressed with the depth of research! I did reach out to Jacobs to ask if they knew of this model being produced by them, but I doubt I will hear anything back. Sounds like a visit is in order to take this thing apart and see what secrets it may hold.

Not that it's definitive, but the Jacobs K32 safety chuck key that came with the drill press sure seems to be the right fit for this chuck and collar.

Thanks, I am really happy to have found it as I am partial to that era and the crown logo. I'll post some better photos once it is in my shop and cleaned up a bit.

Something in between. This will replace a foreign made Craftsman benchtop unit that I have had for about 10-15 years. I plan to clean this one up as far as the surface rust and then it will be my go-to shop unit.

Also interesting to note that this model seems to have the same flat table as the Gen 3. Chuck has the Craftsman Crown logo.

Should have added that it has the original 113.12140 1/2 HP motor as well.
