picts of your in-floor heat set ups.

Actually that picture isn't the final pic either. I saw the same thing and decided to turn the valve 90* and piped an elbow down to the floor and pointed it toward the the floor drain. Safety safety safety

picts of your in-floor heat set ups.

Just finished mine. Just need to support my expansion tank and I'll be done. It's been test fired and works well.....in the summer anyhow.

    40X40 Idaho Toy Box

I know it's August, but I got it all hooked up, purged and tested. I think I'm going to be happy this winter. Now to build the benches over it so it's hidden out of the way and I can use the counter space over the top of it.

    1/2" or 3/4" Pex?

Thats crazy, my 40X40 with 12' ceiling and pretty heavily insulated, came out to a 40KBTU requirement on the do it yourself calcs as well as the one I had the boiler sales people do for me. I've got 1800 feet of 1/2" in my slab through 8 runs.

Thanks. So, the floor is done and turned out way better than I was expecting after the first mixing issue. Anyhow, it looks smooth from a distance, but is actually pretty rough with all of the agrigate that I put down. I finished my floor control panel and now just need to get it installed...

    Quality Name Brand Electric Boilers?

I've decided to go electric boiler for my radiant set up in the new shop. After the heat loss calculations, it seems that I need to be in the 12K range for my boiler. Who makes a "quality" product that will work well for a long time? The only brand I'm familiar with is Electro and they don't...

Thanks for the kind words. Updates.....man this thing is sucking my build account dry! Honestly, I only have one additional picture and it was before the floor coating problem. Sherwin Williams told me that their product often has a "slight variation" of color from one batch to the next...

    9kW Boiler/Tankless Recommendation Please

I found that site and one other once I dug a little deeper. One says, 38,000 btu and the other says 40,000 btu loss, so it looks like I'll be needing to go quite a bit bigger than what I had planed for a boiler size :(

    9kW Boiler/Tankless Recommendation Please

I too am doing the same search. I too have heard names like Electro. My question is where did you find the info to do the heat loss calcs?

My epoxy floor nightmare has come true. The first coat went down great, and then I waited the recommended 4-7 days for the second coat and that's where the problem started. I remembered the first coat when on as a very light color, but then as it dried it got darker. So, as I began with the...

Mesh on pex in concrete question

I was told that the pex tends to "float" because of how it comes coiled. For that reason, I put mesh (suspended 1" off of the foam board) zip tyed my pex to the top of that and then put rebar on top of that so that when I saw cut my slab, I would have the rebar as a warning "barrier" if I got...

Mine has come out to be about .75 to $1.00 per sq ft if you add in the floor grinder rental.

Yup, what he said ^^^^ Plywood was actually cheaper than particle board when I bought my materials, so it was a no brainer. I didn't want drywal because of the shadows that develope when you have exhaust and smoke inside a shop + driving a nail anywhere is a bonus.

Armorseal 1000 HS istall in progress

Will Do, thanks for the reply. I plan to do two coats of the epoxy and a poly top coat with some grit since we get moisture and I don't want anyone hitting the deck in the shop. My floor is new as well, so I'm renting a grinder to scuff it up and then see how it goes. I like most others, have...

Did you lay down a primer prior to painting the ArmorSeal? I just bought my supplies and didn't even think about a primer. What was you slab condition prior to paint?

    40X40 Idaho Toy Box

Not being home all the time has turned this project into a much longer drawn out process than I could have ever imagined. Last week, I finally got all the paint done. Next is the floor. A day of grinding, a day of prep and hopefully a day of painting.

    Garage Stereo Systems

Well, problem solved. CL comes through again and now I've got mega sound without mega bucks. Crank up the jams and drown out the sound of the neighbors dog, planes, trains and tornados

    New Craigslist Activity Anyone?

I had the exact same one and it cracked too. Might be a job for the lathe and some better material. New scores for this week. Man, I hate that others have to suffer and sell cool stuff so cheap, but I like being there to help them out :bounce:
