Great news. Plugged in the transformer and read the voltage at 210. No hum from the transformer but obviously doing it's job. Tonight I'll work on the kiln hookup wiring.

I've had a few rentals over the years and once I got out of them it was a blessing. Just spend/save your money wisely to make things better for your current situation. A lot of peace can come from getting rid of old baggage even though it makes you a bit of money.

Sounds like a good idea on hard wiring the kiln. Mistakes happen for sure. It's 8 gauge wire from my 40 amp circuit. Based on that and comments above and looking online, I think I need 6 gauge wire. The run from my panel to the outlet is only about 6 feet.
