JD, exactly. This was the "swinging" before the mid 1950s when the mount I have came out.

Zero runout in my lathe with a true rod chucked and checked on the rod. This indicates the chuck has zero runout. Regardless of the spindle's runout and because everything I do on my lathe is chuck, the lathe has no runout that affects anything. I hope that makes sense.
