Do Tool Companies Intentionally Hire People that Know Nothing About Tools?

Imho cordless sanders only make sense for small diy projects. I'm not sure of the pro market.

    Some deck questions...

Get treated clear (as possible), centered heart 6x6s and they shouldn't bow. You might (will) be picking through the pile to get them

    Best deals on M18 batteries?

Size wise they are larger in all dimensions, not as large as the forge (which I prefer over all other batteries) for any power hungry tools they do make a difference.

New Bay Window: U-factor not met, Inspector says need new glass, will argon maybe meet new code?

The thought of a permit for a replacement window hurts my head, almost as much as the new window being required to meet a energy rating minimum when the house could be a un-insulated structure built in the 1890s and is not required to meet anything in and of itself. Is it really any wonder why...

    Best miter saw stand

Imho the best/easiest to use stand will have solid wings, none of the standard offerings from the big tool manufacturers have that from the factory. The dewalt is the common one to modify with plywood wings

Looking for thread where OP made their own hardwood flooring.

It's certainly possible, but if you value your time and don't already have the tools you would be better off not doing it. My parents had the local amish run 5" cherry flooring last year for less than I could buy the material.

Like a lot of thing's neither doors or jambs are hard to build once you understand how to build them, and have all the correct tools to do it.

    Best deals on M18 batteries?

Best way to buy milwaukee batteries is between black friday and Christmas when HD is having day/week sales on tools with free batteries. Buying them stand alone is the most expensive way.

Replace decking or also framing for 20 year old deck?

Treated lumber has a finite lifespan, 20 year old lumber is on borrowed time. To spend any money on decking which should last 50 years and installing it on framing that you will be exceptionally lucky to get 10 more years out of seems fiscally irresponsible. I suppose if you are flipping thr...

    Wiring a 100amp outlet/connection- typical practice?

Is it a 80 or 100hp rpc? The rpc is acting like a buffer, but the inrush starting the rpc itself is significant.

    Wiring a 100amp outlet/connection- typical practice?

Only if the start ramp is very short in duration.

Replace decking or also framing for 20 year old deck?

Spending 10-20k on decking that can't be reused once installed to save 2k in framing lumber doesn't make sense.

    Wiring a 100amp outlet/connection- typical practice?

Ideally op needs a 3ph motor and a soft start (vfd or otherwise) if they want 20hp on single phase power. Now that does assume the compressor would function with a soft start.
