    Husky “heavy duty” tool boxes…

I should have done more research before pulling the trigger on mine honestly. Mine only measures 22” deep and inside the drawers they only measure out to about 20”. A couple inches deeper makes a huge difference.

    Husky “heavy duty” tool boxes…

Nice, mine just has a power strip which is nice but it doesn’t have a work table or lighting. Funny how you want more shallow drawers and I want a couple deeper drawers. Different needs for different people.

    Husky “heavy duty” tool boxes…

Honestly if my big middle drawer had double slides I probably wouldn’t be posting this right now. Well maybe, as I almost hate the black color, I don’t think I’ll ever get a black box again lol. Technically I guess I could split up my middle drawer or change it around so there’s not as much...

    Husky “heavy duty” tool boxes…

The only reason I’m considering downsizing is to free up floor space. I’m not dead set on it though. I’m just in a 24x24 garage and I’ve got 2 project cars, a 6ft long work bench, air compressor, furnace, parts washer etc and it’s getting tight. I’ve seen videos of how professional technicians...

    Husky “heavy duty” tool boxes…

I don’t think there’s anything defective with the box, I guess I got what I paid for. I’m just trying to decide if I should just deal with it “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” or just try and sell it now since it’s already on my mind. Once I get ideas in my head I tend to run with them without...

    Husky “heavy duty” tool boxes…

This is what I’d be looking at moving to plus the addition of cabinets and nice peg board . Used of course and thinking probably a Mac/Matco/snap-on possibly the US General version. Just don’t know if I’d regret that much of a downsize.

    Husky “heavy duty” tool boxes…

Hey guys, I purchased a Husky heavy duty 56” top and bottom tool box (23 drawer model) brand new in 2018. Anyone else have one of these and what are your thoughts? After 3 years of me using it I guess I’m just not thrilled with it, kind of just seems “ok” or “fine” but not great. The biggest...

    "Right sized" my air compressor

I'm currently in the same boat, trying to sell my Kobalt 60gallon upright for something smaller. The Kobalt has been sitting unwired for 2 years now and taking up space. All I need a compressor for is filling up tires and the air gun attachment for odd jobs.

Remodel current garage VS building a pole barn...??

Honestly that makes sense lol. Right now we have a large nicely finished breezeway in between the garage and the living quarters of the house. Wife has always wanted a back patio to sit outside and eat dinner on. If I went straight back with the garage yes that would make an "L" and we could do...

Remodel current garage VS building a pole barn...??

Thanks for the reply. And yes I will be talking to him, he mainly does small random interior jobs but he does have a lot of contacts and buddies who can give better insight. I just wanted to get a general direction figured out, find some pros and cons of each situation which I have gotten...

Remodel current garage VS building a pole barn...??

I was just thinking that as well. I don't have a ton of room to go lengthwise as it would be coming close to the property line. Anything that could potentially make the house look "tacky" the wife wont go for it. If I were to go straight back it would be mostly hidden. I think it would be huge...

Remodel current garage VS building a pole barn...??

Yeah it could end up getting expensive, good thing my father is a general contractor. He does light remodel stuff inside homes, I'm sure if he's not interested in taking on this job he could teach me so I can does some of the stuff myself. I know for sure he has an electrician buddy. I actually...

Remodel current garage VS building a pole barn...??

Lol good advice there. Previous homeowner did some questionable wiring with the outdoor lights that run in the garage as seen in the pictures.. If an electrician were to re-wire the garage would the walls need to be down to studs?

Remodel current garage VS building a pole barn...??

I think I'm starting to see that maybe I don't "need" to big outbuilding at this stage in my life. Sure would be nice to have though lol. The kids always come first no matter what. I am however currently on a ridiculous work schedule where we rotate shifts every 3 months. I do get a fair...

Remodel current garage VS building a pole barn...??

A lot of good advice in the above posts, I appreciate that guys. As far as financing a building, I just don't know if I could bring myself to do it, it's just not the way I'm wired. I've never owned a credit card in my life and the only debt I have is the house. We actually just refinanced the...

Remodel current garage VS building a pole barn...??

I keep going back and forth on what option is best suited for my needs. One day I like the garage remodel idea and then I wake up the next morning and think I need a separate building lol. I'm just trying to weigh out the pros and cons of each, and maybe get some input from you guys that I...

Remodel current garage VS building a pole barn...??

Good points there. I think I am leaning toward a separate building that way I could have that space all to myself. Those kids toy cars just got parked there a couple weeks ago, got them for their 2nd birthday (I have twins). Plus the wife has been bitching since she has no room to park her van...
