I second the masdam rope winch, I bought it for helping pull trees to make sure they fall where intended. I bought a kit with pulling rope from an arbor supply store. It was a little tricky at first to figure out the orientation of everything but man does that thing pull.

Could you use a drill with a socket adapter to do the same thing? Most of the better brushless drills develop some pretty significant torque in low gear and could at minimum provide a proof of concept before you buy a bigger ratchet.

I keep my OMT in a Keter box, it has dividers and a mini box that I use for the blades, it comes in handy. A few holidays ago the HD was selling a Ridgid assortment of blades and it had a nice thin case I also use in the box to keep things clean.
