    Between 265 & 485 SQ/FT Standard 2 car turned shop , Thanks Jack!

Reminds me, I gotta start looking for cabinets since I just got my door replaced, and no longer have leaves blowing into the garage every night. Can you just wipe with any type of degreaser, light sand and see what happens after a primer coat?

Above 1200 Sq/FT Lost Cause Garage | 30x48 Rover Shop in Iowa

I'm a city kid at heart, but your part of the state (presuming based on photos and "limestone") is part that I actually enjoyed driving through. I wish I'd gotten more time to ride bicycles up there before I left the state a while ago. I'm going to enjoy watching this build and I hope to see...

    Between 265 & 485 SQ/FT Dr. B's Rally Shop

Always looking for high speed soft-road cornering benefits, huh? ;) I've never been impressed with any Mitsubishi product here in the States, but its also pretty rare I was impressed with any of the rental fleets... having spent two years in college working for a rental company, I know most...

Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT My Slot Car Man Cave

I wish I hadn't missed your posts a year ago, but I'm caught up now. I fondly look back on the two winters I spent in the basement wrecking the hell out of HO? cars and then folding scotch tape to press under the (contact points?) and pulling the same out from under my little brother's cars so...

Size of Attached Garage and Resale Value

I agree that almost everyone wishes they had more space, but would they be willing to pay for it...? The desire for "more is better" when it comes to shop/garage space will likely be echoed here, a place dedicated to working in residential shop/garage spaces. I hate the aesthetics of houses...

    Between 265 & 485 SQ/FT The Die-Cast Model Box

You've definitely built what you set out to build, and I love it. I can't imagine a Homeowners' Association here in the US approving this type of project, so you've got great neighbors.

Totally in for the follow @Klokwerk. I'm not a huge fan of MCM [@Robey5] (particularly in single family residential), but I appreciate it, and appreciate it far more when the owner both appreciates and tries to modernize within similar design parameters. Obviously, Klok's garage door is...

Why is pegboard so disappointing? Am I doing it wrong?

My son once argued with me after seeing a pegboard display, him being totally impressed, couldn't understand why I replied "I hate pegboard." 75-85% of my garage work comes working on my bicycles. I have 1 multiwrench (three-way Allen) that has its place in the header/hutch of the workbench...

Below 265 SQ/FT The Tool Temple - building a garage addition with my own bare hands!

I'm glad this one hit the front page. You've done a great job and congrats on becoming a father. You'll both get some benefit from these upgrades. Happy new year!

Great perspective, Greg. No matter how clean the paint is, I'd rather see someone driving the cars than washing or polishing one. Just hit fewer cones, though, huh? ;) The same concept can be applied to virtually anything people place great value on.

    Between 485 & 705 SQ/FT Mid-Century Moto Mecca Makeover

Shoot, your "builds" page on your website looks like you're selling custom rebuild jobs on bikes, and not great experiences on bikes. And now the van's a business expense. Seriously, good luck with the business venture. That looks like a great experience for your customers/clients.

Your mezzanine/loft looks more comfortable than most TV/Family rooms/Man Caves/Dens I've been in. Whenever you come up with a quality plugged, or unplugged blue-tooth solution, I'd love to read your "Idiots Guide To TV Audio". I'm not an audio snob (obviously), but I want to be able host a...

    Home gym project.

I lived with two collegiate rowers and their workouts were insane. But D1 is D1 and brings D1 expectations. At least they were both heavyweights and they weren't worried about "making weight" like some of their lightweight teammates. Don't they come pre-loaded with some workouts? I'd go...

Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT From losing everything to being cash-poor and shop-rich in "only" five years!

Well, I've had a small cross-over (rogue) and a three row SUV (Highlander) in mine and the concrete didn't collapse. I thought it might have just been the tires... But since I got the squat rack set up in the garage, and started squatting and deadlifting on the cracked slab, I wonder why...

Need Gate help from the fence experts

No actual knowledge, just a reference point: I've got a 9'8" span that is going to be single swing powered, installed by pros. They were out today and sunk a 6x6 steel tube/hollow post, they cut the concrete driveway, dug out 42" or more, and used a trailer concrete mixer to fill in. The...

Re: From losing everything to being cash-poor and shop-rich in "only" five years! As an urban Midwesterner, I feel compelled to encourage you to get out and ride whatever single track you can, whenever you can. But as a father, I promise you, the kids will talk way more about that 1 hour ride...

    Let's See Your Garage Dog

I volunteered a few hours a week at a shelter in high school. The project dog was an English mastiff. He wasn't good on leash (8-10 months, 95lbs and growing) and was kennel-defensive/aggressive so I spent several hours doing not much more than sitting still out side his kennel until he...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

I used the garage as the home office all day today and then during lunch and after work, I assembled a folding squat rack, and mounted it to 4 studs with 16 lag screws. I swear, 94 year old hardwood standard dimensional lumber is about 3 times as hard as modern softwood stuff. Even the...
