Thanks for the info Brotha, I saw several of those Sears boxes online and was thinking that's what I had too, but I never saw one with the third, center, keyed latch. The ones that did have the center latch all had rectangular shaped pulls on the drawers, where my box has little round ones, LIKE...

Thanks man, I been looking at Kennedy site. I think my biggest fear are the latches. I've never used rivets like those and not really sure "how to". I haven't decided what to do with the inside yet, or what to actually use the box for. But for $20 bucks, I wasn't passing it up.

Alright fella's, y'all got a Newb In Distress call. I picked up this old machinist chest for almost nothing at that flea market. What caught my attention was it was all there, it all worked very well and there was very little damage. I'm wanting to restore it to some degree of "original, and I...

LOL I know right ? The guy told me it's probably drilled a "gozillion" holes in its day. It's a runner. I dont know that much about it yet, but I'll be digging into it over the summer. I picked up a really cool ole Renaud punch press and a roller bender the same day, will take delivery on them...

Who really needs a garage? A Landlords nightmare

Sounds like some of my customers. I once pulled a bond jumper out of the deep freezer...He'd been in there for about 20 minutes in just his skivvies... smh.

We're talking about a new box re-paint right ? I'd just use some 0000 steel wool (lightly) and then prime, sand with 400 / 600 grit between coats and finish. If you're using Rustoleum like I do, its hard to chip once it cures. No need for a lacquer or whatever. IMHO ;)

    Toolbox Paiting Help

I use Rustoleum rattle cans for most of my small projects where an identical match is not that important. The self etching primers work well, sand between coats, and take your time. Doesn't really matter what kind of paint or methods you use to repaint, if your prep isn't up to it. A good scuff...
