Seeking advice on 4 post lift

It really depends on you, as in what kind of work you want to do and what kind of shape you're in. I thought I wanted a 2 post lift and was this close to buying one. A couple of guys in the hood had 2 post lifts. Then I stumbled across a neighbor having his second 4 post lift installed. The...

    Harbor Freight Motorcycle Lift Toast

Worst case scenario if it is toast? Call Harbor Freight's main number and ask them to quote you on replacement parts or an entire replacement pump. There are 2 distinctly different pumps. One looks more like a modified bottle jack while the other looks like a custom piece. They have 2...

Workbench build advice on a new Garage Build

I built 2 benches for my 20'x50' shop. One at the rear of the shop and one at the front. Each is 36" tall and both have at minimum a 20 gallon horizontal compressor living under them. I built the benches out of wood, 4x4 legs on casters with 2x8 tops and 2x6 bracing. They both have sheet metal...

    Today's angle grinder thread

My first 4½" was a corded Milwaukee about 25 years ago. Paid a lot for it. Still got it, still runs. My second 4 ½" grinder was a little blue Harbor Freight one that I bought 10 years later for $12. when I was on an out of town job and needed the Milwaukee that was back at the shop. Still got...

    Kitchen Faucets

We are big fans of Delta Faucets. We've had them installed in the last 2 houses we've had built because Delta's customer service is top notch. A lifetime warranty is meaningless if the company behind it doesn't support their products. Delta does. Simple as that.

Challenger LE10 2 Post Lift Question

Agreed the seller should stand behind their work. My guess is the installer you got wasn't well versed in installing these. Leaving no slack in the cables is a pretty basic mistake. Perhaps ask the seller to send out a more experienced installer this trip. It wouldn't hurt for that guy to give...

New Install Dewalt 60 Gallon Air Compressor

penright, Thanks for the better pictures! The check valve is inside the large fitting that is screwed in to the tank. Just curious, is this compressor a single stage or dual stage?

New Install Dewalt 60 Gallon Air Compressor

Okay I watched the video and got an "Ahhh!" moment out of it. Now I understand how that type of drain works. Pretty cool concept and it sounds like it isn't exactly new technology by any means! It is a bit counter-intuitive at first glance because they routinely mount the drain valve higher...

Challenger LE10 2 Post Lift Question

Each arm will have an adjacent shaft in the carriage and each arm has a gear. When you raise the lift, the release shaft should drop (with the help of a spring) and automatically engage the arm gear that locks the arm in place. When the lift is completely lowered, that shaft should bottom out on...

    Cordless Caulking Gun Run Time

I have the Ryobi. It is one of the best tools I've ever bought. It saved my old arthritic hands when we built our last house. It pushed a couple of cases of caulk and never did wear the battery down. It came with the 2.5 ah battery and it is supposed to push 200 tubes or so. I imagine if you...

Best two post open floor lift under $3k?

Have you looked at the 2 post in this thread?: https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=430038 It has the 8 bend or "S" bend columns that are more rigid and reduce sway. It also appears to be ALI certified if that is important to you. It is more expensive than the three you listed...

New Install Dewalt 60 Gallon Air Compressor

The small line looks like it is inserted in simple push in fittings. The secret handshake you are looking for is to gently push the pipe in while also depressing that little sleeve around the pipe with the side of a flat blade screwdriver, then pulling the line out of the fitting. But you...

    Atlas PVL-10 Lift

I don't own one, but a couple of neighbors have very similar lifts of the same design and they both love them. Those "S" bend columns and plate fabricated carriages tick a bunch of boxes for me. This seems like a dang nice lift for money.

Best two post open floor lift under $3k?

Out of those 3, I'd buy the Twinbusch. It has a far better/stronger carriage than the tubular carriages of the Tuxedo or Revolution.
