My Kobalt torque wrench just died...repair or replace?

Well I did find my manual for the torque wrench, but unfortunately its a one year warranty. That anglerepair.com site was interesting. $45 for basic repair though on an $80 wrench. As for ICON, I generally buy HF if it's a tool I'm not sure I'll like/use (like their 25" breaker bar which...

My Kobalt torque wrench just died...repair or replace?

Here on GJ there was a thread about a fellow getting one warrantied, but I checked Kobalts website and their torque wrench warranty is 1 year. If memory serves their newer ones look different and I suspect no longer US made.

My Kobalt torque wrench just died...repair or replace?

Had the thing for five years but it's seen very little use. I bought it for times when the shops SK was too long. Its the exact same design and even made in USA so I figured it was a steal at $80 compared to SK prices. However today I was going up to 100 ft/lbs and just before I got there the...

That does look better...18 vs 21 gauge and 120lb slides vs 100lb.

Stupid deal on Husky 52" tool chest at HD...

Well heck, I guess I have no idea how this internet thing works. The link shows me $398. So I guess this is a single store sale price. The default store for my ISP location is #4702 in Seattle. I typed in some stores closer to me and they came up with the regular price. I guess someone could...

Stupid deal on Husky 52" tool chest at HD...

Forgive me if this has been posted already but I was looking at the HD site trying to remember what I paid for my Husky chest and saw this: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-52-in-13-Drawer-and-1-Door-Tool-Chest-and-Rolling-Cabinet-Set-in-Black-HOTC5213B11S/301958307 $400 just seems crazy low...

    US wrenches with anti-slip design...

I tend to overlook the truck tool brands since I don't work in industry and never see their trucks. Exception being Snapon because who hasn't heard of them? I just checked their website and their wrenches certainly look good, but... My original intent for this thread was to find all the USA...

    US wrenches with anti-slip design...

Well suffice it to say I'm now slightly less sure of what I want than when I started this thread. It sounds like the general idea is that Snap-on is the most aggressive and Proto is going to be midway or closer to conventional open end. I did look at extra long Snapon and in the 11/16" size it...

    US wrenches with anti-slip design...

I certainly don't mind alternative ideas, and had considered DeWalt and Carlyle. My toolbox has more quality Taiwan tools than other origins, and their price certainly tempts me. My thinking is, though, that this will be the second and last set I ever buy, and combo wrenches are one tool still...

    US wrenches with anti-slip design...

Thinking I'm finally going to upgrade from my Craftsman RP wrenches I've had since the late 90's. After significant thought I've concluded I want: USA made anti-slip open end long pattern Searching online for US made anti-slip open ends I've come up with Wright (which are out due to being...

Where can I get my hands on print catalogs?

Had to go ten years back to find those pics. The tractor is still here but parked and probably will never see field duty again. I keep thinking I eventually want to mount a front blade and make a snow pusher out of it. Compared to the Versatile 835 I ran at the time it was pretty small. But a...

Where can I get my hands on print catalogs?

I think the one lesson we've all learned here is to never throw out a McMaster catalog! Ebay or donate to a poor soul who was deemed unworthy I've got one now on it's way thanks to a very generous GJ member.

Where can I get my hands on print catalogs?

LMAO! I've been lurking here at GJ long enough to see the humor in that! Chromdome35 very nearly linked me the mother lode! Except they were out of Stahlwille and Hazet. Still ordered a few others.

Where can I get my hands on print catalogs?

I think a lot of companies have gotten away from dedicated "catalog request forms" on their websites, but still might send one if you make a specific request. I really want to track down a Stahlwille and other euro brands.

Where can I get my hands on print catalogs?

Fierljeppen - Yeah, Steiger comes from one of the first tractors I bought, though it was hardly big: early 70's Bearcat II rocking 200 non turbo HP from a smokey CAT 3208. But the AC worked so I was happy! Not sure yet if I'll take you up on the McMaster catalogs...gonna wait until I've explored...

Where can I get my hands on print catalogs?

So the internet is amazing for researching something specific- something I already had in mind. But sometimes I just want to browse through pages and discover things I never knew existed. But downloading and clicking through .pdf's is tedious (especially with my rural Flintstones internet) and...

What tools have you had stolen?

So a number of years ago I hired a local kid for some odd jobs who had been in a bit of trouble. I knew his mom, and wanted to help out. I was a bit of a punk as a kid myself but with the right guidance turned into a respectable guy. Thought I might try and do the same for this kid. Several...

Insurance doesn't cover theft? Heck, what's the point of it then?
