Help selecting a hot water heater

My OCD demands I point out that there's no reason to heat hot water. Thank you for your kind consideration in this matter. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

Gas furnace / gas line vibration

Your blower and/or draft inducer scrolls are dirty and need to be cleaned immediately. Don't clamp the gas line; have your furnace thoroughly cleaned. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

Having issues with my Carrier Weathermaker 8000

Next time it hangs up on you, don't reset it! Take a look through the little window in the blower door. You'll see a red LED flashing. It's a two digit error code. Count the flashes, pause, count the flashes again. The error code will be listed on the inside of the blower door. Sent from my...

    air conditioner problem

No. It would be like trying to convert your V-8 to a V-6, and we're all aware that GM already tried that with the 4.3 :D

    Central air icing up

Poor airflow (loose belt, dirty blower/filter, blocked return) Undercharged. You had refrigerant added before; could be a leak. Restricted metering device/moisture in the system. Turn off the a/c and run the fan until the coil thaws. Take it from there. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

    Anyone here have solar panels?

Hmm, mixed reviews... I have no idea what my utility would credit me for surplus juice, so that and installation cost are the big factors. I'd also like to know if there's some sort of limit to how low credits would go; I'd hate to be promised $X per kwh only to have them drop it to .25X in 4...

    Anyone here have solar panels?

I've perused a few websites and come to the conclusion that most of the companies in my area are simply benefiting from federal credits and screwing unwitting homeowners. The marketing around here has been ridiculous. I get flyers in the mail every other day and phone calls every week. I even...

AC cooling weaker when cool outside

The unit may have a low ambient cutoff, meaning it might think it's too cold outside to be running A/C. Also, it might be undercharged which would result in an icing condition in lower temperatures.

Enough said, I think. Not enough information in the post to give any insight. Make and model would be a good start.

Furnace blower sometimes kicks back on after heating

Dude, your fan/limit control is operating as designed. If it's really bothering you that much and you want to keep the restrictive filter, all you need to do is lower your drop-out temperature in 5 degree increments until it doesn't start up again. Personally, I'd leave it alone and put in a...

Furnace blower sometimes kicks back on after heating

Meh on the pleated ones as well. An older furnace (like the OP's) was designed for 1" fiberglass. They're still the best bet for residential applications.

Furnace blower sometimes kicks back on after heating

The filter is blocking normal convection which previously cooled the heat exchanger. Those filters are a complete joke in residential applications. A true particulate filter will fill a small garage. Toss it, use a standard fiberglass filter, and replace it often.

water Heater Connection Flameout - WWYD?

Bad wire nut connection. Rewire with bugs (split nut connectors). The heater is not damaged and you'll be fine once power is restored.

Bryant Carrier 90+ will not fire

Just saw this thread... sorry I'm late, but.... I have the same type furnace in my attic. When it was two years old I had a Praying Mantis commit suicide on my ignitor and burners by getting sucked in through the combustion air tube. His remains cracked the HSI, fouled the crossover vanes...

    Basement Heat Questions

Welcome to GJ. Your public profile doesn't tell us where you are on the planet. This info would help, but in the meantime I'll assume you see subfreezing temps. So if I read this correctly, you have a large, unfinished, walkout basement with a workstation in the middle of it, right? What are...
