Tips on removing stuck wheel on bench grinder

Any tips on removing a wheel on old bench grinder where the nut is stuck? I was able to remove the wheel on the right, but the wheel on the left isn't budging. I squirted some PB blaster. And, yes, I know that the left side has reverse threads. Any tips welcome.

Bench grinder missing side guards - make with acrylic?

I bought an old Wissota bench grinder. The grinder is fine but is missing the side guards. Could I cut out a piece of acrylic/plexiglass and use that for some side guards?

Mid 1950's Craftsman Floor Saw Rebuild Journal

Current project is a 1939 Walker Turner table saw. When I was painting, I was in the same situation in that it was in the mid-teens to 20s outside. I can not paint in the basement because there would be too many fumes. So, I set up a section of my basement with a portable heater and brought the...

1950s Brown Brockmeyer vs 1990 Wissota Bench Grinder

I am looking for a bench grinder. Two Bench grinders are for sale in the area. Both are 7", 5/8" arbor, and 1/2 hp. Both look like nothing is missing (i.e. eye shields, guards, and tool rests are present). Both are asking the same $$$ and both look like they are in good condition. Brown...

    11b30b4’s Craftsman 103.23070 (100 series) 9” x 30” Wood Lathe

Does it matter which way the swing (i.e the hinges) is? I.e. the motor is mounted where it is running counter-clockwise (Looking from back motor to pulley), should the hinges be on the right or left side (again looking from the back of motor towards the pulley)?

Thanks, it does help. I just checked and saw I have an old Craftsman motor with this mount on it. I also had this hardware in a bag with it. I figure that the wings on the mount go into the holes in those hinge looking items, and I am assuming that the bolt with a spring in it acts like that...

Hi Jeff, Although I don't have the same lathe or motor as you (but I do have the same pedestal) I am in a similar situation in that I have to mount the motor. I am trying to figure out how you mounted your motor. Did you use a special frame or something? Could you take a close up photo of the...
