What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Blew all the dust off the tractor and shredder after using it today and decided to drain the air compressor which turned into the drain valve going bad so I’ll have to order another one. Tempted to try cleaning it to see if I can get it working again.

Did the unthinkable at Harbor Freight

I applied once when I was more desperate to get out of my current line of work. The “one sided virtual interview“ was an instant no. It would be nice to get an employee discount on tub o towels and superlube grease though.

Picked up a snap on sae 1/4-7/8 set on eBay along with a few ratchets. Ratchets should be here later this coming week. eBay has been pretty good lately if you’re quick enough.

Counterfeit Snap on wrenches? Is there such a thing?

But that makes sense because of the volume that sells. There’s not billions of people using snap on wrenches before work every morning.

Counterfeit Snap on wrenches? Is there such a thing?

Message me with a link or a username. If the deal is good enough I may get a set to keep in my suv tool drawer.

This is why we can't have nice stuff (vintage find ruined)

Do the ReStores typically have tools? I pass one every day but have never gone in it. Am I missing a potential gold mine? I’ve got a few pawn shops that I regularly find stuff super cheap, but another option is always good.

    Organization ideas?

It’ll likely never get insulated. It doesn’t get much condensation inside and other than it being hot in the summer the cost isn’t worth it at the moment. Maybe when it’s actually mine it’ll get done, but for now there’s bigger stuff in line around the place to get done first.

    Organization ideas?

Looking for some ideas for getting things organized in our shop. I need to get a bigger toolbox soon, but would also like to store wrenches and hammers on the wall close to the box. If I were to track down one of the older display boards from one of the tool companies what would be a good way to...

Tools you bought just because, "Some day, I might need that !"

I put a blue point a1310 bushing driver set on my watchlist on eBay a while back and the seller dropped it to an insanely low price to get rid of it so I jumped on it. I told my dad “we‘ll probably never use it but it’ll be great for driving bushings and seals on our heavier equipment” when I...

    This won't last long LOL

I can’t see that ever selling. I get that some of the older guys love their craftsman tools because they’ve used them for decades, but the tools were never quality enough to drive that kind of price even if they completely shut down the brand. I guess if I only used craftsman stuff I could...

Bought a small toolbox full of used stuff a while back and finally had a chance to go through some of it last night. Cleaned up some of the snap on stuff and it’ll be added to the vintage stuff I keep at the ranch to work on our older tractors. The newer stuff is nice, but there’s just something...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Been too hot to do much, but the past couple days have cooled down. Lift arm bolt broke off in the shaft on our small tractor and with limited space we had to invest in a right angle drill. Luckily, John Deere decided that no thread sealant was needed so I was able to drill into it and turn it...
