How much leak down to expect?

Don't you have a ball valve between tank and whip at the regulator? I assume that's how you plumbed it. I always shut off the ball valve on my system at the end if the day. This way if you do get a leak, it will only drain the plumbed lines and not the compressor tank. I went overboard on...

    4x6 band saw

This is my opinion exactly. Drilled wrong or something. Can't adjust it out and not for lack of trying. I decided on the 7x12 grizzly, hopefully I won't be disappointed. It's going in a home shop, I build vintage style custom mini bikes on the side among other things. The saw will be used but...

    4x6 band saw

This was my wonder, jet is $700, HF 350 roughly. U doubt that jet has a $350 better motor.

    4x6 band saw

So if the problem is in the casting, how can I be assured that another brand of the same casting won't be off too. It wouldn't be a problem if there were still brick and motor stores left that stocked merchandise a person could go see before purchasing rather than ordering online and going...

    4x6 band saw

The problem I'm having is the saw is not cutting square on the vertical axis. It's not an adjustment issue that I can find. If i hold a machinists square on the bed with the blade upright, as I raise the saw it does not raise perfectly straight. I end up with 1/16" off square on a 2" square...

    4x6 band saw

I'm looking at grizzly, the reviews on their saws is pretty good. I was planning on just the 4x6 but the more I procrastinate the more I lean towards going with their 7x12. More of a saw than I really need but I'm having a hard time trusting that another's version of the same HF saw isthat much...

    4x6 band saw

I'm sure this has been covered to death, but I can't use the search function on my phone so i'll just ask. Looking to replace an old used wore out harbor freight 4x6 metal band saw. After searching the web I see there are several brands that look to be all from the same casting as the harbor...

    Grinding belts

well thanks for all the responses. I got the attachment in the mail today so I will get it installed soon. As far as material goes, it looks like the ceramic is more expensive that others so I'm guessing it is a superior material. I will be using this for small piece fabrication, to just clean...

    Grinding belts

Just picked up a multitool belt grinder attachment, and was wondering what belt brand/kind everyone likes? Will be using for general metal fab. Cleaning edges before welding and shaping parts. I want something that is going g to last.

    Air hose reels

Looking for opinions here on some of the best reels around the $100 range. I am less concerned about the quality of the hose itself and more concerned about the reel. I want the spring and swivels fittings to last a while. Ive been reading that people are having luck with the HF ones. Any...

    any Craftsman tool collectors?

That's funny, I was posting about this elsewhere and made the comment that if this were a hot wheels car it would be worth thousands.

    any Craftsman tool collectors?

Are there any Craftsman tool collectors out there? I stumbled upon one that I can not find on the internet. It appears to be a manufacturer mistake, the ID stamping of the Craftsman and Forged in USA logos are on the opposite side of the handle from normal. The Forged is on the top and the...

    Paint thinning and hardening

Yeah, 30 minutes for the valspar. Which was the reason for starting this thread. I didn't know if the hardener was meant to sit for the activation period BEFORE the reducer was added or if it could be thinned and then add the hardener.

    Paint thinning and hardening

I was wrong in my description. The valspar hardener I am using is for all oil based enamel. As far as the majik stuff, everything I have heard and read says that stuff is junk. I don't know if it is the paint, hardener or reducer, but people are complaining about the stuff never curing. There...

    Paint thinning and hardening

Okay thanks, I was figuring it would be the same as auto paint, but with it having to sit for 30 minutes, I was worried about the reducer evaporating and the paint starting to dry in the cup.
