    Floor jack???

It is only a 1 ton, but that will lift half of a lot of cars and most track cars.

Been waiting for someone to test the Astro pneumatic slide hammer and here it is.

That is why I asked — I was pulling rear wheel bearings from a BMW that had seen many years of New England winters and it took about 75 pulls with my 5 lb puller. After that I decided I should buy a 10 lb for next time. Next time has not come yet but I maintain a few BMWs so it will come...

Been waiting for someone to test the Astro pneumatic slide hammer and here it is.

I think that may be the only 5/8-18 in 10lb. It is expensive but there do not seem to be any other options.

    Floor jack???

I have experienced that but only when I did not have the jack at a perpendicular angle to the car or on a surface on which it could roll slightly in or out as the car was raised or lowered. I have never had a jack release unexpectedly and drop but have read reports of it happening. I have had 4...

Confess: What Tool Did You Not Really Need But Bought Anyhow? (Silly Stuff Included)

I buy tools that will make jobs I have done before easier the next time I do it or tools that appear to make a job that I plan to do easier. I don’t collect tools to display them in drawers and show off here, but I do spend money on things that are not necessary, like modifying my cars and...

    Floor jack???

Everyone seems to like the AC hydraulics jack but it is a lot more than most of the other options. That is what I would choose if cost was not a concern. I bought the Arcan low profile extra long reach 2 ton steel jack for $160 in 2022 when someone here posted an Amazon link. It is $300 now, but...

Been waiting for someone to test the Astro pneumatic slide hammer and here it is.

I would like to get a 10lb slide hammer for wheel bearings. There seem to be body shop 10lb slide hammers but I do not know if the attachment is the same size and thread pitch for the accessories I have for my 5lb hammers. In the northeast, we have rust that gets in the way of removing stuff. I...

Maybe he sends them out for cleaning and polishing after each use.

1/2 ratchets, flex head, snap on/gearwrench etc?

Yes, we can tell that is the drawer of a collector rather than a pro. I prefer the recommendations of the pro, most of whom like Snap-on and other expensive tool truck brands, but many of them also say they do pro work no problem with much less expensive ratchets.

Why not use luxury vinyl for garage floor?

Does vinyl plank stain from tires like pvc?

I Might Have Been Wrong On RaceDeck

I have pvc tiles and they are not really for working garages, either. 7 years later, I have tire stains, pain stains, grease stains, and the floor has buckled from expansion over time. I will hand clean the tiles and relay the floor this year. I have cabinets on it in addition to the lift and...

Cheapest Source for Ernst 18" Magnetic Socket Rails?

I have 18 Olsa rails that are not magnetic that stand up fine in my tool drawer and fit tightly next to each other. When I pull a socket off, I do put a finger on the end of the rail to hold it down. If you have a busy shop where you are grabbing sockets as fast as possible, the magnetic rails...

Looking for a professional looking solution

If there is metal spiral flex, use it. If not, put the rubber whip in other metal spiral flex for animal protection. One loop coming out if the ground should be bold for a foot of movement in any direction.

Looking for a professional looking solution

Is the gray flexible whip available in 2”? Would a coil or spiral of it provide the movement needed? A coil would probably be 36” or more in length for that size. Or do you need metal because and animal would chew through plastic or rubber?

Quantity of outlets for 20x20 shop

I like this. Can handle whatever and gives you options for the future. I knew exactly my layout, but over a decade of use, things changed a little and I am happy I installed more than enough outlets. A couple have had to be removed. I did all of mine at something like 42 inches but I would have...

Question about a 18 in flex head ratchet

I can tell the difference between a German luxury car and a full size domestic pick up truck. I was not wearing a blindfold so I am not eligible for the dollar, but I have a huge car payment and could really use it.

Rolling bridge jack for advantage hd9000 lift

What you want to know if you have low cars is the height above the runners with the jack fully down. You also want to make sure the jack does. Of but the floor and raise off the channels when the lift is on the ground. The runners and lips on the runners for rolling jacks may not be all...

Question about a 18 in flex head ratchet

If your impact wrenches fit everywhere you need to use them, then you have less need for ratchets. Mine do not and I have Milwaukee stubby, mid and high torque as well as right angle. Most of my use is on German cars. Breaker bars get the job done, but the lack of ratcheting makes them a pain...
