Rolling bridge jack for advantage hd9000 lift

There are some threads here on cross compatibility but they may not cover this specific lift. Worth searching. Most are on cheaper options for Bendpak but not all and some of the Bendpak threads discuss other lifts.

Question about a 18 in flex head ratchet

I like my 17” and 22” flex head 1/2 drive ratchets. I have standard length fixed head as well. Also have 13” flex head 3/8 as well as standard length fixed head. I have 18” 3/8 breaker bar and 24” 1/2 breaker bar but prefer the long handle ratchet. I find the 1/2 drive useful for the DIY car...

Anyone using the Bendpak GoAir mini compressor on their lift? Other ideas?

The only problem with cheap portable ones is they sound like a bunch of rocks in a can. Some of the Harbor Freight are quiet as are the California brand, but I am not sure how much more they cost. My 60 gallon is upstairs so the sound is muffled.

    Lisle Tap Socket Set 70500

Good point! I was tapping aluminum and yes, a lot of debris fell on the ratchet mechanism and the socket. If it was steel, it would. It would not have been as easy to remove. Probably best to not use magnetic if tapping from underneath — I was working on the underside of a car.

    Lisle Tap Socket Set 70500

When I read this thread on the Lisle set, I noticed reviews were not outstanding on Amazon so I shopped more and bought a no name brand on Amazon for $17. No machining issues where the ratchet head fits. Just used the #5 to tap 8 holes and the tap fit tightly. Can’t say they are any better or...

Anyone using the Bendpak GoAir mini compressor on their lift? Other ideas?

For DIYers who don’t use air much, the question may be to run a big compressor when using the lift or to buy a mini one instead. I have a 60 gallon that I rarely use except for the lift and it is massive overkill for that job.

Anyone using the Bendpak GoAir mini compressor on their lift? Other ideas?

I would not worry about the width of the compressor on the column if you are mounting it on a front column and drive onto the lift from the rear. Mirrors won’t be near the compressor. Looks convenient, but premium priced for the capability. Maybe the bolt on convenience is worth the extra...

Recommend a 3/8 Impact Socket Strategy

I recently bought the big Sunex 3/8 metric impact set on Amazon. Deep, standard and swivel to 22mm. I like 3/8 for its size. I am impacting more these days and my 3/8 set was not very complete. I never go beyond 24mm for my DIY car work, and I have that size in my 1/2 set.

Torque Adapter Set - Please Reply with Data if you own a set!

Those are similar to a regular socket with an extension, but lower profile since it is one piece. Sometimes that helps. Depends on the direction in which access is limited.

Torque Adapter Set - Please Reply with Data if you own a set!

I am an automotive DIYer who works mostly on BMW and Porsche and have encountered situations where torque adapters would be useful. Sometimes I think that whoever designed the car never talked to mechanics who would be servicing them. If you are comfortable estimating torque by feel, you can...

    Auto Battery Cable Repair

BMW did a battery cable recall on my 2008 M3 and the repair was a crimp and splice. This was not on the battery cable in the trunk (battery in trunk) or on the alternator cable in the engine compartment but it was on the main power cable from the battery to the passenger compartment distribution...

Milwaukee vs Dewalt vs Harbor Freight Bandfile

I chose Milwaukee mostly because I have plenty of batteries and chargers and like the simplicity of one battery platform. And it seems to work well enough. I need more sandpaper.

1/4" and 3/8" socket drawer nearly complete.

When I see a very full drawer of clean and shiny ratchets, I think of a collector rather than a user. Probably many of us spend money on stuff we want rather than stuff we need or use. That is OK. I live in a house and have cars that are much fancier than I need so I am definitely not in the...

Yes, it does appear you need to buy a larger tool chest to store your collection.

Anyone done a DIY wheel alignment?

Within the last 2 weeks, I read a review of an app that uses your phone to measure the alignment specs. You do haven’t hold the phone steady against the top of the wheel. Testing showed the results were about equal to a shop alignment rack. Unfortunately, I forget the name of the app. I do not...

    Milwaukee 1/2 M18 Impact👍

The 1/2 full torque is a heavy beast. It is the last one I reach for, but I am 61, not 31. I used to choose all be biggest, most powerful tools but now choose the lighter ones if I think they will get the job done. In the Northeast, lug nuts do not always come off with the M12 stubby and 5ah. I...
