Two of the three were a little loose, so I ordered a couple of kits from Grainger.

I'm still going through my Dad's tools and have come up with three SK ratchets. The first two are clearly stamped 42470 with the patent number in different fonts, but the third ratchet does not list either and simply says CUSTOM with the SK in a diamond. I'm guessing the first two were standard...

I tried that SPP744 tool out this afternoon and I was amazed how easy it was to reassemble the ratchet! Now I wish I had ordered one sooner.

While I was rebuilding mine, I found the ball will drop through a 9/64 drill gauge, but not an 8/64. So, I'm think of picking up a few 9/64 balls to keep on-hand.

Well, after having the ball bearing launched across the garage, I ordered one of the Snap-On tools to try again. Not quite sure how, but I managed to find the ball.

Turned up 3 unmatched wrenches at my Dad's.

While on the subject of tool boxes, any guesses what this stray drawer was from?

I might have seen those pliers, I will have to look again this weekend. Do you know when this set would have been sold? I'm trying to figure out about when he would have bought it.

Looked around a little more and turned up this box, but nothing in it. I'm guessing it must have been a 1/4 inch drive set.

Sadly my 91 year old father recently passed. My wife and I are starting to go through his belongings and happened upon this Williams socket set. We were wondering if anyone could tell us what its background and age was.
