    Garage sale finds

Hopefully this picture loads ok. Stupid imgur hates me. Did pretty well today. I got all of the sockets, ammo can, and four USA wrenches for $20, the new roll of duct tape, electrical tape, and thread tape for $1, the KRA-282 old Snap On case in excellent shape for $10, and the Central dial...

    Craftsman multi wrench

Not usually one that goes for gimmicky tools but saw this multi wrench at Sears last night and thought it was pretty cool. Be good to throw in the vehicle tool kit. Was made in China though.

Does this Toolbox do laundry too?

Since when does Whirlpool try and make boxes? Had rolling bearings but steel seemed thin on drawers and that long drawer wouldn't shut on its detent. Just flopped back and forth. No thanks Whirlpool. This was at Sears by the way.

    Outside lights burning out

Hey electricians, I have a dilemma. It used to be that whenever I needed to change my porch light bulb, that I keep on all night, that the bulbs would last for 4 or 5 months. Now, for the past year or so, maybe longer, it seems like they only last a month at best. I've tried different type bulbs...

    Top notch foot apparel

Ok, so I'm fed up with buying walmart work boots that last a couple of months and fall apart. I need suggestions for great work boots for an auto shop environment, preferably steel toe. Looking to pay up to and a little over one hundred dollars if that's what it takes to get a decent boot that...

    Old Craftsman welder

When doing some cleaning in my dad's garage (he passed in 2009), I came across this old Craftsman stick welder hidden behind his table saw. I don't recall ever seeing this as a kid and I doubt he used it even once. It has a patent date of 1969 on it and a manufacture date of 71. Anyone else have...

    The most GIANT pliers ever!

Look what Snappy brought me today. They were free with the purchase of a set of pliers I really didn't need, but can you blame me? They're awesome! Actual demo pliers that are aluminum. They come with a little mount to hang them on the wall. Too cool.

    Picture size

I know I asked this before but I can't find where. How do you get your pics full size in a post instead of the small attachments?

How many use a mini ductor?

Was wondering how many of you have used or own a mini ductor and how well it's held up. I've wanted one for a long time but they're so darn expensive. At least the price has been coming down. I'm sure I'll take the plunge soon and get one. http://www.theinductor.com/index.php?m=50&s=24

    What is this thing?

Brought this home from my mom's the other. Was in my dad's garage all my life. It's solid steel and looks like an anvil accessory or something. No markings on it:confused:

What clever accessories have you done to your garage?

Nothing big here, but I looked at the kick panel to my garage door one day and thought, "You know, one of these would go perfect here." I just happened to have a couple extra off of a 68 camaro I'm working on.

What kind of tools have you found in the road??

Don't know if a thread like this has been done, but I was wondering what kinds of tools you have found in the road over the years. My first one I think was years ago when I lived in Atlanta. I was working at an NTW ( now NTB). There was an access road to Peachtree Industrial blvd in front of the...

    Took the plunge.

Bought my Christmas present to myself today. Finally broke down and bought this awesome set of wrenches. We have a brand new Matco rep and he said I broke his cherry for his first big wrench sale, lol. Haven't had a chance to use them yet, but I'm sure they will be awesome. Didn't get a chance...

You find yourself wiping down your tools for the tenth time in a week even when they haven't been used recently. 3. You make excuses to your spouse for the third time in a night just to go...

Are your tools and boxes insured at work?

The thread about if anyone locks their boxes got me thinking. I found out just a couple years ago that where I work ( a Goodyear franchise), our tools and boxes are not covered by the stores insurance. This astounded me. I was wondering if this is the norm among not only automotive shops but...
