I just purchased this box and will pick it up tomorrow. Extremely heavy duty. Drawers are very deep - 24" or so. Any of you military guys know anything about it?

This (assumedly) WWI-era hatchet was in an auction lot of tool boxes I picked up a few weeks back. I thought the military folks might like seeing it. Anyone have any info? Likely going on eBay to help support my ̶m̶e̶n̶t̶a̶l̶ ̶i̶l̶l̶n̶e̶s̶s̶ tool habit.
