Looking for ideas to cover RV ceiling

We have an older motorhome and the ceiling panels have a vinyl "skin" that is peeling off. Kind of like wallpaper. Do not want to pull the cabinets and replace the panels if at all possible. Have considered removing the vinyl and painting and have seen textured styrofoam tiles that can be a...

    Another old transmission jack question

A friend has this old trans jack in his shop and she's a leaker. Any suggestions on who made this one (no tags or labels)? It seems it spent some time in a local school shop, is pretty heavy duty and for age, some of the pedals and fittings are cast iron. Any info would be appreciated.

    Craftsman compressor might be toast

I have had this compressor for a long time, bought it new. Model number 919.152931. It is an "oilless" unit and needs a new set of pistons and sleeves and unfortunately, they are now obsolete. I think this unit is on it's 3rd set. Spent some time searching the innerwebs for parts and no luck...

    Another mystery tool

Found this in a box of tools. Has numbers UB0003014 stamped on it, no name or logo. Pull the handle and the center pin spreads the outer prongs and it all retracts into the case. A puller or compressor of some kind?

Looking for the toothed wheel for my Proto 4753 refridgeration ratchet. The wheel has 1/4" square hole (female). Other interior parts or an old repair kit would be a plus but I mostly need the wheel. Here are a couple of pics. Thanks for looking.

    Proto ratchet repair help needed

I recently picked up a Proto 1/4" ratchet at a yard sale. It has 753 stamped on it. I opened it up to clean and oil it and found the wheel is chewed up. Went online and ordered a kit that was supposed to look like this..... Sorry about the photo placements. The part number that seems to be...

Looking for parts for a Birmingham lathe

Today I was at the lathe at work, minding my own business when the parting tool grabbed the part and ended up breaking the swivel base part of the compound. I was able to take everything a part and it basically broke one of the ways off the casting. This machine is from the 1990's, model...

    8" rotary table rehab

I have had this little guy sitting under my bench for over 30years. I have a use for it and hauled it out of it's nest. The label is gone and it has several coats of grey enamel on it. Hosed it off with WD40 and everything moves now. It has a number stamped in it "8416" so I have to guess...

How does this mill bit come apart?

This is a new-to-me mill cutter I picked up in a pawn shop buy. Seems to be in pretty good shape. I want to loosen the bolts that clamp the inserts but they do not want to move with out a lot of force. I doubt the bolts are rusted and I don't want to break anything. Is there I trick I am...

Gem or junk? Yard sale find

I found this in a container of parts that came along with a purchase at a yard sale. Looking at images on the web it seems I have the makings of a nice little double square if I can find a blade. Anyone want to take a shot at who made this? There are no markings that I can see. I see a...

My bench lathe needs a tune-up

I can start by saying that I am a noob when it comes to dialing in any machine tool. I have a Birmingham bench lathe CT-1440G made in Taiwan. The issue I am having is when I use the power feed, the finish is awful. It seems like the saddle/apron my have some slop in it and moves around and...

    Welding turntable project

My son had mentioned a few times that he could have used a welding turntable on his last fabrication projects. So thought I would try and build one for him. 12VDC motor, variable speed with reverse and foot pedal. Waiting to see how it goes on its first try.
