    Removing a few Racedeck tiles

Thinking of getting a MaxJax lift for my garage. Currently have a Racedeck floor so assume I need to remove a few tiles from the floor and drill my holes for the posts. Anyone done this, how did you finish it to look good? How do you pop these tiles out of the middle of the floor? Thanks!

    Plomb toolbox sticker

I recently bought a Plomb 9980 toolbox on eBay. Haven't got the box yet but it appears to be in great shape from the pictures. There is a sticker on the inside that also looks great for it's age. Couple of questions. Do you think it is original? Can you tell the year of the box by the...

    Want to buy: Plomb toolbox

I am looking for a full sized Plomb toolbox to house my growing collection of Plomb tools. Condition is not important, I would consider any box available. I know this is a long shot but thought there might be someone out there with a box looking for a new home. PM me if you have something...

    Need help with my situation

I live in Ohio. My garage is about 24 X 28 with 12 foot ceilings. It is attached to the house, fully insulated and drywalled, no outer windows or doors, only door to the outside is a single large isulated garage door. The house and garage are new with RaceDeck flooring. I'm only interested...

    Auction buy - 27 old ratchets, $25

Spotted a single box with a pile of old looking ratchets while at a recent auction. Didn't have time to really check them all out so I figured I would go for it and ended up winning all for $25. All appear to be pretty old and there are some unusual (to me anyway) pieces in the mix. Lots of...

For those who sell tools in the classified section...

This might be a dumb question but how do you package a single wrench or ratchet and how do you figure out how much to charge for shipping? When selling items for a couple bucks I would think you need to be careful to make any money. I have some stuff I want to start posting soon. Thanks.

    More old craftsman toolbox projects!

Some of you may have seen a post I did about a great old Craftsman toolbox and roller set from the late 40s, early 50s that I restored. For some reason I am really captivated by the style and look of these boxes and have been picking up some smaller pieces to compliment them. Some are really...

    Old Craftsman toolbox restoration

Posted about this auction find some time ago. It was advertised as a "Ford" toolbox. With some help from folks on this board, figured out it was in fact a very old Craftsman toolchest and roller cabinet with the hornbutton from a 47 Ford attached to the front. Found a very similar box in...

Tell me about this Wright wrench find

Picked this up at a garage sale today and frankly I don't know what to call it. It has a 3/4 socket head on one end and a 11/16 on the other. Both ends pivot as shown by different positions in the pics. If I am reading the Alloy Artifacts page right, I think this was made in 1940. Anyone...

    Multi-head wrench, interesting find?

So were these pretty common? Was this a poor man's wrench set? Picked it up cheap at a flea market, thought is was interesting. One handle and five different heads that slide on. They stay on and are pretty tight but not sure how it would work out in actual use. One side of the handle says...

Old SO toolbox find, how did I do?

Found this at a flea market for $10. Markings say it is a SnapOn KTA-2 from 1974 I think. Pretty good shape, some paint loss and surface rust. Was this a good deal? Nice heavy box!

    What are these wrenches?

Need some help identifying these small wrenches. They were in a toolbox that dates back to the 1940s. I assume that they are for older ignition systems and may be specific to Fords or might be generic. Anyone help to ID these things as I am not familiar with them. The tools in the first...

    Help with old Craftsman catalogs

Anyone have a Craftsman catalog from 1945 - 1948? I am restoring the tool chest and cabinet shown below from the 1949 catalog. I think mine might be older than 49 and is slightly different than the one shown. Any help would be appreciated. Here is the set in the 49 catalog.

Auction find - 1940s Craftsman box and cabinet

I posted about this earlier in the week. It was advertised as a Ford tool box. You guys helped me see that in fact it was a Craftsman with an old Ford horn button on the front. Did some research and found out that this set is from 1945 - 1954. That Craftsman logo came into use then, found...

    Old Ford toolbox

Can anyone tell me about this toolbox? These are the only pictures I have and no description. Any ideas on the age, use or history of such a box? What would be a fair price? Looks like a matching top and bottom box. Note that two of the pictures have a green on white sign of some sort...

    My recent Racedeck install

Here are some pics of my new Racedeck floor in my new garage. The garage is 24 X 28 and the only resident is my 66 Mustang GT fastback. We moved to this new home in Ohio back in June and I’m just now getting around to working on the garage. It does have the look of a showplace type garage...
