    90* laser level

While not building a garage, I'm looking for something to help me build a pavilion. I understand I could use 3-4-5 to square the fenceposts but I'm looking for something better or a tool. What I'm hoping to find is something I can mount to a tripod that will light 2 points at a 90* angle and I...

4 jack stands vs 4 ramps

I need to do some exhaust work and rust remediation on my foxbody over the winter. My plan is to put on the stands or ramps for about the whole winter. (Nov thru February). Which is safer? I really like the race ramps wheel cribs in 10” but that’s sorta $$. Anything else I should consider?

    How do I fix this?

Working on my car and broke a stud. Normally I’d just jb weld a bolt and move on but in this case, it can’t be tall. I was thinking an elevator bolt maybe. However I still probably need it welded. Any ideas? Can’t find this part in a junk yard around here. It goes to a 1993 mustang convertible.

    Replacement bulbs

I have a standard 2 garage that I use for DIY auto repair and the two standard bulbs aren’t cutting it. At this time, I don’t want to go full board lighting but wanted to start with just better bulbs. I was looking at this and similar...

    Handheld torch for bolts

After reading for a while on here about using a torch to heat bolts that are rusty, I want to give it a try. I am trying to remove a seat bolt, which I believe is probably coated in blue thread locker. To date, I've broken two torx sockets trying to remove this stubborn bolt. What I'm looking...

    Holding inaccessible nut/bolt

I was working on my truck over the weekend and since it was a little harder than it should have been, I figured there was probably a tool for the job that I just didn't think of. I was working on removing the bolts where the manifold connects to the exhaust. If I had an assistant, I would have...

    Cleaning bolts

Most of my garage work is based on wrench on cars, mostly my own. Something I'm trying to find a smarter tool/idea for is cleaning bolts. I try to get all the crud off of them before reinstalling. I use a pipe cleaner type of thing to clean the bolt hole (combined with Simple Green). I use a...

ISO: 30 Gallon Horizontal Air Compressor

I have a smallish two car garage that doubles as my "shop". Currently, I have an older 20 gallon craftsman air compressor under my work bench. Most of the time, it works just fine but when I'm using a blower or hard on the impact (like for spring compressors), it tends to use the air quickly...
