Half attic/scissor trusses. How to finish opening?

My shop has half scissor and half attic trusses. I'm on the fence on whether I should close it up, or leave it open. I would think insulating would be much simpler if the it was closed up. Thoughts/advice? Would love to see photos of those who have the same truss setup and how you it looks...

How to attach ceiling drywall to gable end?

I must apologize in advance as I wasn't sure how to search for this question or even how to accurately title my thread. My walls are 2x6 and there's no overhang on the gable end inside to attach the ceiling to. What's the best/proper solution to this? An extra 2x6 top plate that's offset...

    EchoBase.. 32x32

So after years of dreaming, I finally pulled the trigger a few weeks ago and we broke ground last week. I originally wanted 30x40, but we ended up going with a 32x32. Here's the original exterior design: We've since decided to only put brick on the front. The patio on the side was inspired...

Google Maps overlay for garage planning?

I've used sites before that let you define points on a map, and it gives you the area calculations, but are there sites where you can define a dimension (garage dimension) and it will overlay the shape on a map to give you an idea of size on your property?

Air shears: Pistol or straight grip?

I'm curious to know which you guys recommend. Santa was good to me and gave me one of each for christmas, but I need to return one of them. The pistol grip feels more natural, but I'm wondering if the straight grip would offer better control.

    Air compressor "sweats" oil.

I have a chance to buy an 80g Devilbiss Pro Air II which, according to the current owner, "sweats" a bit of oil at the motor casing. He was told by the previous owner that it's not a big issue and it hasn't been, and I've heard from another who owns the same compressor that his does the same...
