Can someone identify this 1/2" knockout hole plug?

I like these knockout hole plugs but can't find where to get them. They fit a 7/8" hole (i.e. 1/2" knockout). They are two piece screw together plugs (a female threaded cap and a male threaded plug) which seal well. Pics attached. Thanks.

    This electrical passed Home Inspection

My daughter and son-in-law (young couple) bought a decent starter home (except the electrical). This has to rate as some of the worst electrical to pass home inspection. The subpanel had lots of 14 ga. wire on 20A breakers. Lots of wires packed through a hole made for a 3/4 fitting w/ no...

What is this thing that came with my angle drill?

Hi, I bought a Milwaukee 1/2" angle drill from an auction the other day. It's an old drill. The drill can be used as a right angle drill, or it can be switched to a straight drill. The casing is all metal. Included in the drill box were a couple of these metal punch looking things (I took a...

    Service Disconnect Labeling

I have a question on labeling "Service Disconnect". To give some background, several years ago I wired a sub panel from a main panel, with a transfer switch in between. Here is a thread with pictures where I sought and received good advice from the forum...

Mind taking a look at this install-half done?

It's been awhile since I've done this kind of electrical. I'd appreciate letting me know if you see any safety issues. I figure it's easier to fix them now, before the sub-panel has branch circuits in it. Pictures are of the main panel, transfer switch, sub-panel, and finally a picture of the...

What's the deal with a hold down/retainer clip

I'm still working, as I have time, on my own transfer switch and subpanel install. I've noticed the new 100A subpanel has a retainer on the breaker used to backfeed the panel. My question is, is one of those kits required on the corresponding feeder breaker in the main panel? From what I can...

    Advise on Transfer Switch

As I posted in another thread, I'm installing a subpanel next to the main panel. I've now decided I want to install a transfer switch in between the main and subpanel for a standby generator. I'll put the critical circuits in the 100 amp subpanel. The main panel, transfer switch, and sub will...

    Welder outlet questions

I've been reading the archives of this forum, good stuff, but it has caused me to have more questions. I plan to put in a welder outlet in the garage. It will run a small Miller AC/DC unit. I want to go w/ a 50 amp circuit, even if the circuit is a little over-sized for the welder. I plan to...

    Subpanel Installation

Hi, I have two questions regarding subpanel installation. If you could answer either question, I would be appreciative. I have experience in various aspects of wiring, but the I've never come across the following issues. Here's some background: This is for my own house. The main panel is...
