    220 mig on a generator

    I have some welding to do way out 'yonder'. I have a 6500/9500 watt generator w/ a 220 output. My welder is a L-tec MigMaster (285 amp). Simple math tells me if it draws 30 amps, ill need about 7500 watts. 50 amps, 11000 watts. But my question is this, I wont be welding near max amperage...
