HI, I installed 2 fans in my shop on one dimmer switch. The fans work good, however when on low speed, the fan makes a humming noise. If i increase the speed the noise goes away. What could be wrong? HELP!

Just for curiosity sake, why would code require seperate circuit for door, if it only needs little amps?

They are two hots, neutral and a bare ground wire.

I think its ACWU aluminum. After peeling back the rubber and cutting the aluminum shell it leaves a sharp edge.

Help with question please, I have dug a trench and laid down the direct burial #2 aluminum, Do i just peel back the rubber and aluminum shell in a j box and bring the wire in the garage? The aluminum shell is very sharp, i am afraid it will nick the inside wires. Is this the proper way to do it?

appreciate your input PattenP, I opened up the splitter box cover and saw two thick wires comeming in and then two thinner wires going out to the meter and the panel. Correct me if i am wrong, wouldnt that mean there is 200amp coming in and then getting split into 100amp going into the meter...

On the disconnect box it says 200amp

Hi, this is the setup of my house power and i would like to take 100amp underground to my new detached garage 50ft behind. Do i just put 100amp breakers in this panel and run a conductor or is there another option? Thanks in advance marty

I am building a 22x50 with 15 foot ceiling garage and my furnace guy recomends no larger than 75,000 btu natural gas furnace. He has given me a price of 3,200. fully installed including the permit. Only thing i have to do is dig a trench about 90 feet long which is not included in the estimate.
