    Itgb's 20x22ish Garage Upgrade

I don’t think the Genie was available when I got the 8500W’s. The 6170 looks pretty good, what’s the price difference?

    Itgb's 20x22ish Garage Upgrade

Re: garage door opener, I have two Liftmaster 8500W units. These are a bit pricey but have built-in battery backup and since they mount to the side of the door, no clutter on the ceiling...plus they are very quiet. They can also be controlled from your phone from anywhere if you want.

Still have the M5, E500 (x2), wagon, and recently bought a 981 Boxster S. Also have my daughter’s 190 at the house.

    Side of house spaces...

Being a bit of a Porsche fan myself, and even though we are talking about the 928, I can't help but make a comment/correction. All 924's and most 944's (Turbo models included) were built in Audi's Neckarsulm plant. Of the 4-cylinder, water cooled models, I believe only the 968 was built in...

Belt Drive vs. Chain Drive vs. Screw Drive

At my previous house, I had a Sears belt drive, which I believe was manufactured by Chamberlain. In the 5 years I had it, it worked perfectly. Belt drives are generally smoother and quieter then chains or screws. Btw, now I have a WD iDrive and it's the best system I've ever had. :)

    Hydraulic Press

You can buy an inexpensive 12 ton press from Harborfreight.com for under $100. It's not the highest quality but it will get the job done easily. Here's an example: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=1667

    small suburban garage- uncluttered

Clean garage and nice Series 1 Jag! What's that metal box below the cabinets by the door? I too am undecided about my garage floor. I think I may have too much moisture for epoxy so I'm considering either having the floor stained and polished or possibly putting down ceramic tile.

Time for a new Garage Door Opener!

At my previous home, I had a Craftsman belt drive (made by Chamberlain) and it was flawless while we where there...over 5 years. In my current house I installed a WD iDrive about 3 years ago...it too has been perfect. Both are quiet and smooth but I much prefer the iDrive because the motor is...

    Wood siding to replace stucco?

Thanks. I don't have any moisture problems (that I know of) and I was just curious. I'm just weighing my options...

    Wood siding to replace stucco?

So, here's a stupid question...does the stucco have to be removed? Why can't the wood siding go over the existing stucco?

    Wood siding to replace stucco?

Thank you! That helps a great deal. Is there an advantage to tar paper over Tyvek? Is one more durable then the other? Or is it just ease of installation for Tyvek?

    Wood siding to replace stucco?

My home currently has wood siding on the front with stucco covering the rest. I would like to replace some of the stucco on the back side of the house with more wood siding for aesthetic reasons. What is involved and what should I be concerned with? Thanks!

    Wall Mounted Vacuum

I have the Craftsman wall mount shop-vac. It attaches to the wall in a plastic carrier and can be removed easily for carry-around use. It comes with about 21' of hose and misc. attachments. Works great! Previously I used a regular rolling shop-vac and compared to that, the wall mount is way...

    Tinting Garage windows

On my previous house, I had clear glass windows and it always bothered me that people could see in. On my current home, when I bought new doors, I requested frosted glass for the windows. It was a little extra but worth it! :bounce:
