Our local APL has barn cats. They will be spade & you will half to confine to your garage until they get use to garage. Feral cats are the best as they are shy around people but will take care of pest. I have 2, they spend most of the time in the shed. HTH Tracks

Not trying to steal your thread, but I am having the same problems. A lot of my support beams have old trees with the bark on them. I am not restoring just repairing this barn, How do estabalish level with 3 different ground levels? Tracks

If you are going with oil base, You can use thinner for the first coat because it is really going to soak it up. Please don't cover with steel! I am assuming there are 1x12" with batton? Tracks

The quickest & cheapest would be to remove and clean out the 1/4" vertical pipe. (short pipe) as someone previously suggested! If that doesn't work, the proceed as others suggested. Let us know the outcome!!!!! Tracks
