    Kobalt 50-Piece Air Tool Kit

I have this kit (gift from wife) and honestly the air impact and air hammer did not work... non-functioning out of the box. Ending up using BiL's 20 yr old Craftsman. Have not had the time or energy to try and get a refund/exchange.

    3/8 Deep Sockets with ledge

If you mean only the bottom 3/8" or so of the deep well being fluted (i.e. 6 flats), GearWrench deep well sockets are like this.

    whats the point?

Like others have said: sentimental value or a discontinued design.

    Suggestions for oxygen sensor tool

If I remember correctly, there is an engine option in the 2000 Blazer where one of the downstream O2 sensors requires lowering the sub-frame! It definitely proves they design them for ease of assembly and repair is an afterthought.

    Suggestions for oxygen sensor tool

I recommend as many options as possible: o2 socket (w/ wire channel), O2 socket (crows foot), 6 and 12 pt wrench, line wrench. Not only can they be hard to get out, some are in the worst possible locations.

More Snap On rebranding- this time @ Tractor Supply

Brand recognition leads to brand licensing, because at the end of the day, it is income that does not require expense on companies part... "free" money vs reputation. Many examples can be found.

do you think this tool would be a proper gift for my dentist?

Old ones make a good garage art... I bought one made by Crescent that had lots of patina and brazed to repair slide for $2.

What was your first tool set?

16 - Craftsman basic set in zipper case and misc pliers. My son has his own rolling box (small 5 drawer Stanley top and bottom) with a set of Craftsman 1/4 sockets, wrenches and various screwdrivers/pliers for Christmas (he is 7).

    Let's see your toolbox.

Can not be 100% sure, but they look like the Torin boxes being sold at the large Advance Auto Parts near me. Not sure about the powder coating .

    Seriously disheartened by Craftsman Quality

Oddly enough, I had this exact same issue over a year ago. However, it was replaced with one that had no issues. The QC seems to be getting worse. FYI the breaker bar has held up well.

    circular saw storage

I use old lockers from a school... there are multiple shelves, each one is about right for a power tool.

Somone came into the shop asking to borrow a tool....

I loan to friends/family... but have been burned. Went to my box to get a 12mm wrench, which with 3 complete sets should not have been a problem. However, I found 1 entire set gone, the 12mm and 15mm out of the other 2 sets gone. Found out wife let people "borrow" my tools... all of which...

Dumbest thing you've ever done in your garage...

I was putting something in the bottom of my 7' locker (therefore I was knelling down) and bumped it enough to drop a jack stand down. The stand referenced earlier (weight 20 lbs.) fell about 4' and hit me in the head. In the ER, they stapled up my head and gave me a prescription for pain...

    flourescent vs. LED work lights

I use a 13w Compact Fluorescent on a reel. No complaints; however, the 26w ones look nice.

    Home Depot "Security" Measures

I have seen pictures of utility knives hanging on the pegboard with a note saying get customer service for assistance. This is undoubtedly compliance with some law designed to keep minors from getting hold of the razor knives.

    Tech shool

Try local Vo-Tech schools. They usually offer classes (no degree) that are a few nights a week. Most are nights only due to high school classes during the day, at least around here.

    More Ebay Madness

EBay's new ads are right on the mark... "Shop Victoriously." Nowhere does it say "Shop Smartly" or "think twice before you get too competitive." :spit: That competitive nature can cost... my wife and another mother bid up our son's Kindergarten class painting, part of a fund raiser, to $300.

I've Started Bidding on used Tools

Collectors can be very *********... a person I work with was very upset at the concept of me giving all of the vintage, i.e. I'm getting old, Star Wars toys to my son to play with. I'm with you, the joy of watching him the day he got to open all the storage boxes was worth more than money.
