    Automotive bulkhead connectors or grommets

I've got a LS3-4L80E combo in a c10 truck with the computers mounted under the dash. The grommet I used has a 1.5" id and fits in about a 2" hole. I was able to pass the all the connectors on the engine side of the harness through the 2" hole leaving the computers and large connectors on the...

4 Post bridge jacks homemade, or buy a 2 post- opinions needed

This is the only pic I have of what it looks like now, the bottom of the jack is flush with the bottom of the runways. I cut the side plates shorter and moved the whole assemble up and re welded it back together. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

There are spring loaded wheel that retract when weight it applied. In this pic it hung below the runways so I ended up modifying it so it doesn't.

4 Post bridge jacks homemade, or buy a 2 post- opinions needed

I only bought one bridge jack because of price. You can get all 4 tires off with just a little planning. I usually jack up one end and use jack stands then jack up the other end. Works well on unibody cars but I cant do that with my truck because the frame is too narrow to set the jack stands...

    Overhead door without ceiling pain

I install doors first, ceiling later and it wasnt that difficult to work around. I left the tracks alone but removed the brackets that connect the tracks to the ceiling. Obviously do not open the door during this time. I did one at a time just incase I needed to open another door for...

Alternative to bendpak rj45 rolling jack?

Dannmar makes rolling jacks that are identical to bendpak but a few hundred cheaper. My 6k jack was $999 shipped from summit a few months ago. I imagine the 4500 is a little cheaper. I use 4"x4" wood blocks when I need to jack something in the middle and they work good.

    car lift on a budget

Look for a used name brand lift, I found a 12k 4 post Rotary that I picked up for $1000. The next best $1000 I spent was for a air/hydro bridge jack!

    DIY 26'x40' detached build

My septic is aerobic and the sprinkler heads were not in the way thankfully. I had to adjust 1 head to spray 180* instead of 360*

    DIY 26'x40' detached build

I don't go up there very often and I can't really add a stair case without causing outer problems with my layout. If I ever move and build another shop with a 2nd floor a stair case is a must along with a restroom under the stairs.

    DIY 26'x40' detached build

I like your trolley set up and may do something like that in the future. I shattered my ankle on the foot that broke about 10 years earlier so between the 2 injuries there is permanent damage. Doctor says an ankle fusion is very likely in my future when the pain becomes too much on a daily...

    DIY 26'x40' detached build

I have thought about trying to build something to hoist stuff into the attic. Last year I was trying to carry material up the ladder, the feet of the ladder slipped, I fell off and broke my heel bone. I was out of work for 10 weeks and still hurt from time to time almost a year later. We also...

    DIY 26'x40' detached build

Only 1 car I own will fit under it and it stays in the house garage since it's my daily driver. The lift is mainly just for maintance and projects Thank you! Thank you, I love that truck and hope to never get rid of it. I would only trade it for a low mile, same year, same options, just a...

    HVAC in a Garage

I have 4 ton heat pump in my 26x40, I think it works great as it is usually off and only turned on when needed. I chose a heat pump because I don't have any other option available like gas and I didn't want to use electric heat because I didn't think there was enough electricity available. I...

    Show off your lifts!!!

I picked up this Rotary 4 post 12000 lift off craigslist from a dealership and added a Dannmar 6000 rolling Jack to it. I got the lift for $1000 but I had to take it down myself. My buddy and I had it taken apart enough and strapped down on a trailer in an hour and a half. Not to bad for...

    DIY 26'x40' detached build

Ended up buying a Dannmar 6000# rolling jack to go with the lift. Awesome accessory for a 4 post and love the air operated jack. I'm pretty sure it's the same as the Bendpak rolling Jack just $200 less It hangs below the runways so I may end up modifying it's it doesn't. I need to look at...

    DIY 26'x40' detached build

I finally ended up with a lift, I wanted a 2 post but after looking into 4 post with bridge jacks I decided I would rather have the 4 post. I accidentally ran across a used Rotary 4 post 12k on Craigslist for $1000. Only catch was I had to remove it and haul it home from 2 hours away. So I...

Interesting lingo at your place of employment

In our machine shop we have a big piece of hose wrapped around in a circle to reduce chatter on large (18") diameter parts and its called the "**** ring". The little rubber cups we put parts in to protect them while not being worked on we call "condoms".
