Wire was delivered Saturday via Fedex, and I managed to get it in conduit and mostly buried over the weekend.. What size breaker should I put in the main panel to service the (2) 15A breakers in the shed? 30A or 40A?

Just black, but I will label accordingly. Funny, but both the XHHW-2 and the URD show the jacket as crosslinked polyethylene.. But I guess it's not all created equal.

I went ahead and ordered 4 rolls of #6 XHHW from wireandcableyourway.com With any luck I may get it by this weekend.

It's hard to imagine what the difference would be.. If I used a jumper from one lug to another, the lug wouldn't actually be carrying the current of both legs, just used to physically bond the incoming and the jumper to the next leg.. but hey, I'm not an electrician, nor to I pretend to be.

It's a 12 x 18 building, so we had planned on running an electric heater on the same circuit that the window ac is on.. basically that circuit will be dedicated to hvac.. but you are right, for another $26 I can run another #6 AL and be done with it, hardly even worth thinking about.

Isn't #6 AL good for 50A though?

I like the extra protection that the conduit provides, so even if I went with the UF, I would probably put in conduit.

Thanks for all the input. I'm still weighing options.. Wireandcableyourway.com has #6 XHHW for $.20 per ft, so that would make a 120v run $.60 per ft. VS $1.11 for 10-3 UF.

I'm a noob but it doesn't make sense to me either.. ordinarily you would have multiple breakers on a single leg. If I had a panel with 8 spaces, 4 of those would be on one leg, and the other 4 on the other leg. I called all my local suppliers this morning and none carry #6 XHHW in aluminum. I...
