Help me plan the "perfect" underground feed!

+1 to keep at least 3 ft from any gas/propane piping and your electrical, regardless of local code. Also, be absolutely sure that all your NG/propane supplies come UP from ground first, then enter building above grade. Having a leak that collects underneath a house is NOT good.

House Wrap Old Garage Before Vinyl Siding?

+1 with other GJer's to definitely install housewrap before exterior siding. Housewrap is superior to tar paper as it let's interior moisture "breathe" out but prevent moisture penetrating from exterior. FACT: My personal experience with shoddy new home builder in 80's . . . my 1st house had...

x2 on this idea. I would NOT be satisfied with 4 single bulbs in nice big shop like that.

    Alternative to Aprilaire furnace filter

OP . . . If it wouldn't look like too much of "hack" you could put a 1" electrostatic filter on OUTSIDE of the grill and pre-filter air before it got to your expensive 4" filter. Another idea, could you open up your return air ductwork in a DIFFERENT location to **** in air that might be cleaner ??

How do I replace bottom piece of lap siding on garage?

^ ^ ^ This. Only put in screws where absolutely necessary and yes you could use construction adhesive in areas where you don't want any blemish. Plan ahead some sort of "rigging" to apply pressure while the glue dries . . . some 2x4's on legs and bag of sand or concrete leaning against would...

Pick a cordless platform for my father.

    Sounds like main concern is yard-work tools, I'd change the order of GJer's above then as Stihl is leader in that segment. 1 . . . . Stihl 2 . . . . Milwaukee 3 . . . . Ryobi * * * P.S. * * * What Craftsman stuff will your dad be getting rid of ?? I'm sticking with 19.2v C3 platform and...

Finishing a shop someone else started?

^ ^ ^ ^ Wow, what a shame. That would be super nice-size shop !! OP . . . might work out to your advantage w/ partially finished a) finish it how you want b) bargain down price c) upgrade electrical/etc while still wide open I know I'd sure love having a 40x60 shop. Good luck.

Almost done with electrical. Little more help!

OP . . . . also be helpful to Sparky's trying to help you by filling out GJ Profile with a LOCATION . . . . . at least state/country. Sometimes Canada vs USA have some differences. Search similar threads on GJ as there is very nice schematic that shows all those proper connections for...

Running yellow gas line to new garage.

^^ +1 for DOING IT ONCE, and Doing It Right !! If you need to horizontal bore under the drive-way, then do it. OVERsize the yellow plastic HDPE as residential NG service is generally LOW pressure so plan accordingly. Get that walk-thru from the gas company to determine if meter size . . AND...

Where to get good quality brass pipe and fittings for natural gas?

Do you have a WinNelson wholesale distributor there ?? . . . . yes 13930 Radium St NW, Ramsey, MN 55303 (763) 502-8000 I'd just go with black pipe steel and paint as other GJer's have recommended.
