Concractor to Repair Pole Barn in NW CT

I am looking for a recommendation for a contractor in the Waterbury area that would be willing to fix some rotted posts in a pole barn. I have tried a local pole barn builder and he wasn't interested. I am also looking to have a concrete floor poured at the same time. Thanks in advance.

    Mac box

I checked with a local Mac Dealer about converting my box to BB drawer slides and was told the BB slides are wider and therefore the drawers were made smaller on full BB boxes.

What to do with parts/hardware in toolboxs I bought

I restlessly bought a couple of toolbox for the estate of of a retired machinist with the plan to keep what I could use and sell what I had duplicates of. So my question is what to do with the hardware, parts, and fixtures. In the boxes I have found hundreds of set screws, dowel pins, and what...

    Mouse control !!

I am currently trying out Mouse Magic. It's a peppermint oil based repellent in a beanbag type pouches that you toss where you typically catch mice. It is supposed to last about a month. I tried using straight peppermint oil and is seemed to work but it would dissipate quickly and then I would...

    LP Smartside siding

30cal, You say you used the 4x8 sheets. Were the grooves as wide as T1-11? And how thick are the sheets? I am looking for something that looks like shiplap siding but without the issue if wood, like the sap bleeding through the paint.

Lathe then a mill.. Mill then a lathe?

Now that you have the combo machine I would look for a screw cutting lathe, that to me is the biggest gap in that usefulness of that combo machine Looks like the mill uses an R8 spindle so if you decide to add Bridgeport (or clone) later on you won't have to reinvest in more tooling.

Pondering building a low buck spray booth.. ideas?

While I am a looong way from painting me car, I was looking at the 3M dirt trap. It is pricey but I think it could save time fixing issues after the paint job is done. http://3mcollision.com/products/featured-products/dirt-trap

Can Pex be used for air lines?

I think you are confusing the comments against PVC with being anti PEX. But the fact is, PEX has limitations. For me, the lack of heat dissipation is enough to use something else. But a refrigerant air dryer at $1000+ might solve the water issue problem. As would living in the desert. Of...

    Repurposing Overhead Door Panels

Anyone re-purpose insulated overhead door panels for anything? I was thinking for using them for either a barn door (hinged double door) or as wall or ceiling panels in a small part of the open "car port" I build on the side of my pole barn. Anyone done this? Thoughts? Mike

It's a long road to my barn...

Good to see another person here from the Performance Years Forum. I would love to see how you go about doing the floor, I am assuming you are going to do concrete. I have a pole barn with pavers for a floor and would like to see how it should be done around here.

Northern Tool Lathe, mill, drill combo. Any good?

Well it sounds like this type on machine fits what you need. Now if you were buying this new I would make the argument that for the same price you could get a used USA machine lathe and mill that would be way better. But when you get into industrial machines mobility becomes an issue. As you...
