    Weaver Auto Lift?

I looked at a weaver a guy had for sale in his home garage, 5,000 lb unit. Well built, similar to a mohawk in construction, had a floor plate for a chain, single ram style. Probably from the mid eighties I'm guessing. Had a big mounting area on the posts as well which I liked. Had it been rated...

    Holley Carb soak time???

Hydro Seal, if you can find it anywhere anymore, is /was hands down the best stuff ever. When they stopped making that I went to spray HogWash. Then they stopped making that. It was a couple hours or so in the hydro seal. With the hog wash, I just sprayed let it set for a few then a healthy...

    Mohawk help

You have a single overhead line correct? The way to bleed it to my understanding is you need to find a fitting that will thread into your slave side rams bleeder screw, (which should be 3/4 fine threads) preferably a barbed style that you can connect a long piece of clear tubing to, which you...

What a mess ! Time to start my garage makeover. (lots of picts)

I know I'll probably get flamed for this but yes, eliminate some of the big stuff if you can, like the little truck, a generator and............ the bike. Lack of space to actually start to move things around to organize is a big roadblock. I constantly have to force myself to do a semi annual...

AVC, yes, I had no choice, had to split the difference. It's not a true all the way thru control joint though, so I'm pretty confidant. Do you get much fore/aft rocking with any of the vehicles you've lifted so far? Krash, thanks for the compliment, more people DONT know what it is than do...

    Help My Mohawk is stuck!

If by single line your talking about the one that goes overhead then yes. The recommended bleeding procedure is similar to bench bleeding a master cylinder. I'm going to see if I can source the appropriate plastic fittings and some hose and give it a whirl, cant hurt. I'd rather weld up some...

    Help My Mohawk is stuck!

i got it figgered out, (I think).Fluid level good. Carriages are not stuck or locked. I did try to crack open the bleeder on the slave side ram, no difference, I then cracked the overhead line to relieve some pressure and she unstuck herself. I ran it thru a couple/few more cycles (not all the...

    Help My Mohawk is stuck!

Just finished my install of a used system II 6000 lb two post and was running it thru a couple up and down cycles to equalize/bleed it. It was going really well but now it's stuck in the fully raised position and wont come down. No car on it of course. Any ideas?

Install tips for two post lift

AVC, what length anchors did you use? I know Mohawk calls for 5 1/2 but I could easily go another inch or so on the length, my garage pad is easily eight inches thick in the spots I've drilled so far. I've got 5 1/2 but think I'm gonna return them to grainger for some longer ones.

Install tips for two post lift

Avc, my ceilings are 9' and some change. I'm definitely gonna punch a hole and truss to give me some extra lift height. I have walk up storage room in the attic. Damn now I wish I would have went with a Gambrel or barn style roof. Kicking myself in the rear. I'm assuming you set level by the...

Install tips for two post lift

well, it appears I'm falling behind. I did however get the carriages minus the arms back in the towers. Its kind of difficult doing it by yourself with just a cherry picker. It was a nail biter for sure. I have them located where I want them and tomorrow is drill and set time. I will be using...

Install tips for two post lift

Still re-assembling. It appears that there was an issue with one of the carriages at some time in it's life in that there was as best as I can describe some side loading. There is a quarter inch deep gouge in the carriage itself and one of the stub shafts that the carriage bearings ride on was...
