Also decided on u140 for the flooring and ordered some UFO's to try out for lighting.

Been awhile, been busy with other things. The doors didn't come until April, and had a damaged panel. I finished truss bracing, hurricane ties, and put in the 12x12 (mostly). Holy cow, those springs are 4' wide each! Spread out most of the topsoil. The little stuff is time consuming.

    Planning for EV charging?

Man, this is alot of discussion on this. If I was worried about it and closing up the wall, I'd run conduit to a box so I could do it later and avoid snaking the wall. Super cheap and future proof. Who knows what charging will look like even 5 years from now.

Above 1200 Sq/FT Finally building the shop!!

I had the same layout issue with mine, I ended up sliding my door over and adding a dedicated door for the lift so I could drive straight into it. Obviously not gonna work here, so If it was me I'd do it at an angle on the left past the door, so you've got the right side clear all the way back...

Hey man, I never told you a Miata was a good idea. I'd have built an exocet.

No sweat brother. When you pull in it's down the back side to the right, took me a while to find it. They had a ton of 2.5" 40psi foam (it was covered in dirt, I ended up power washing it), but it was pretty reasonable.

I'd insulate the floor either way, and if you're going that far the cost of pex is pretty trivial. You can do reclaimed foam and save a bundle on that as well. I bought mine from green insulation group, they are around springfield.

Not a whole lot of progress, properly mounted entry doors and windows, taped the seams. Found some other issues they didn't frame out properly on the gables, and the bracing isn't done properly either, do I'll chip away at that in my "free time"

Sikaflex saw cuts before or after?

With sikaflex? I believe after, as it's flexible and will crack the coating. It can also discolor the coating. I used extremeset, which goes before (but is much more rigid)

Another WIFI to the shop question

If it's in conduit you don't need outdoor cable, the stuff from hd is fine. Outdoor cable is for exposure to the elements.

Another WIFI to the shop question

The length is no problem, I would just pull the cable and be done with it. The ubiquiti ptp devices are pretty good, but you just can't compete with the simplicity and stability of a wired connection. I......wouldn't consider the ethernet over the power line option if it was I.

We got 18ish, and same deal with covid, one of the guys on the crew ended up with it but they all quarantined for a while. Good luck with the trusses!

You still have somewhere to lay those trusses? We got hammered with snow here.

Anyone have a favorite smoke detector brand?

You can silence them with the app (every time I've set them off). That would ****, I've got some 15+ ft off the ground.

Thanks guys! Yeah, he graded it pretty nice. There are some LARGE piles of dirt out of frame that I'll need to spend a solid day or two moving with my skid. I was kind of hoping they would be, you know, moved, but here we are. It'll get done, but probably not until spring at the rate I'm...

Roof is on. Waiting for garage doors, they're probably 6 weeks out. Hoping to have the soffits and entry doors done shortly, finish taping, and that's probably it until spring

Anyone have a favorite smoke detector brand?

You aren't kidding, I've got 9 of them. It ties into the nest thermostats, so I'm not honestly positive of it closes the dampener or just kills the furnace, but I'd imagine however the thermostat usually kills the heat or cooling coming into the room would be the same manner. The concern is...
