Arghhh, help me with copper pipe!

I need multiple compression fittings. The ones I have are for 3/4" but I didn't understand that tube and pipe are measured by different methods. The home centers carry up to 1/2" with a couple odd 3/4" thrown in. Looks like I will be having to go to a specialty store or just buck up and order...

Arghhh, help me with copper pipe!

Have to use compression because it threads into the compressor head and chiller. Came that way factory. I could order the factory SpeedAire tubes but they want almost $200 a piece.

Arghhh, help me with copper pipe!

Well ain't that a ***** LOL. I was just looking at the copper tube manual and it shows an average working temp of 400psi at 100 degrees with type M so maybe I'm fighting with type L for no reason!

Arghhh, help me with copper pipe!

I'm reworking my air compressor and air system in my shop. My compressor head lines had been switched to flex lines but I've put the compressor and tank back together in it's original format. I wanted to replace the flex lines with rigid copper as they had come from the factory. I read all...

Converting old fluorescent / incandescent backlit signs to LED

I've used that self adhesive LED tape on the inside of a couple of my old lit signs and Pepsi machine. It's inexpensive, works really well and doesn't heat up and crack the plastic. Plus you don't have to alter any of the original lighting.

Check out ESAB. The shop I ran had a mig/tig combo unit plus spool gun. I don't remember the model though.

    Brad nailer countersink

Do you have an actual nail setting punch? They have a recess in the point to push the nail down and keep it from flattening the nail head.

Bathroom shower glass door stud issue

Well technically you can if you anneal it. At least a competent glass shop can. If nothing else, if it's flat panel why not just have the correct size door made? More likely cheaper than reframing a wall.

    introduction

Thanks, that's Pendleton and he's a pretty good boy :D That could be just the natural color enhanced with the poly; hard to tell from pictures. You'll just have to experiment with a scrap of the new stuff to get the patina you like. Love the trim...sure don't make them like that anymore!

Looks like oak. Take the picture to a Wood Craft or other woodworking store and ask them to help you find something with a similar grain pattern. You'll also have to attempt to match the stain.

Ah, I got you. Hmmmm I will have to check. I know the house has baseboard heaters but I've never looked closely at them. Good call.

Tell me about this water heater!

Not sure what you mean "as a boiler" do you mean as just a captive tank? As far as I can tell it's wired up and the breaker panel for it is all turned on. Pipes are hot. I didn't do too much investigating so I'll take a closer look tomorrow.

Tell me about this water heater!

I know, right??? This house is maybe 1300 square feet with only one bathroom! And then to be in tandem with an additional 50 gal water heater? All this for one guy living there?

Tell me about this water heater!

This behemoth is in my FIL's house, circa 1950. It's operating and there's also a new typically modern water heater running in parallel. I've never seen such a beast of a water with so many knobs! Can anybody give me any information on it? Sorry for the cruddy pictures, it's hot and dark...
