    Bright Red floor

I know bright red epoxy is available...below is my current floor bought from Hirschfield's, a paint store here in Minnesota. I want something similar, but I'm not using flakes this time...solid red. Just looking for something that doesn't require as much prep because of the lack of water at...

    Bright Red floor

I am in the process of building a 32x64' garage/workshop/storage building. The 1/2 that will be workshop will have a coated floor. I want to use a bright red floor coating. I do not have water at this property as of yet, so I am looking for a coating with minimal prep required...floor was...

Sink only in a detached garage... does drain have to connect to septic tank?

As you say, it probably varies from state to state, but here in Minnesota the drain would definitely have to connect to the septic to pass code.

    40x30 garage w/ 15x8 enlclosed breezeway

I'm fairly new here also, but one thing I would highly advise...don't do 9x7 doors. At least 9x8's. With 9x7's, you can't even get some full sized pickups in them. 9x8's are the standard around here and many people are going to 10x8's or 10x9's. Good Luck!

    The Best Light Fixture Ever!

F.Y.I., I just ordered 15 fixtures and 30 lamps from Bees Lighting. Called direct and asked for a discount. The only thing they could do is to apply a May coupon for $10 off whole order (shipping was already free). Thanks to the experts on here for this thread. I probably would not have...

    The Best Light Fixture Ever!

Yes, I meant fixture, not lamp holder... Please excuse my ignorance when it comes to this stuff :dunno:

    The Best Light Fixture Ever!

Am I reading this wrong, or has the lamp holders gone up to $15.96 each? When I click on the link in the first post, that's what it shows. Are these still the best option? Thanks...

    The Best Light Fixture Ever!

Platonic, Can you tell by the below pics if this fixture would be comparable to the one in your first post? This is on the shelf at my local Fleet Farm for $10.97 each (obviously, no shipping, but about 7% sales tax). I am building a new shop and will need about 24 of these fixtures. I am a...

    The Rupp Garage

Does the name "Rupp" have anything to do with Rupp snowmobiles? 1975 Rupp Nytro with Sunburst Kohler...one of my favorite snowmobiles...sold it and bought a 1975 Yamaha GPX-433 because I thought the Yamaha would be more dependable. Had more trouble with the Yamaha than I ever had with the Rupp.

Land clean up and home build?

One thing you didn't mention is how long you plan to stay there. Most people stay in a house for about 7-10 years (even if they say they are going to stay there "forever"). I don't know where you are located, but around here (MN), mobile homes depreciate and stick built homes appreciate...

Are you going to spray foam 12 inches thick? If so, BIG $$$. Keep in mind, spray foam is only about R5 per inch.

    SE Wisconsin Workshop/Office/Mancave

One thing I noticed... I think the door entering the bathroom should swing against the other wall...still swing inward, but with the hinges on the right side while standing in the shop facing the door. The way it swings now, it would be hard to slide by it to get to the toilet/shower.

has anyone done a red epoxy floor?

I'm new here, but I used red epoxy in my workshop. Unfortunately, the only pic is one of my car, but you can see the floor pretty well in the picture. It's not perfect, but I think it came out pretty well. I don't know what brand it was, it was bought from a local high end paint store. I...

My Garage Build. 30x48x12 w/12' leanto

I am new to Garage Journal, but I will give my $.02... My last garage/shop I went with in-floor heat. I am convinced that I will never heat a shop with anything else. I live in North-Central Minnesota, so it gets very cold here. The in-floor heat is SO comfortable. When you are working on...
