Yes, the axe makes quite a different "tune" when you grind it, compared to the other axes I have. That makes me suspect the steel is very different.

Hi Krokodil, Gedore SA seem to be importing some of their wrenches from elsewhere and putting on the "made in SA" labels. I have found a few of their items clearly not from here but with the local tags attached (even if they come from Europe).

Not yet, I see that Made in SA tag stuck to every Gedore product sold in SA, even when not made in SA. I know also the Gedore SA made spanners don't have that long rib down the neck like in your picture.

Somehow I missed this discussion, sorry don't always get onto GJ. I'm willing to put a month's wages that the bottom spanner is not made here in SA. We have a matte high quality finish like the German one, and our Gedore spanners generally have the SA mark on them. I have recently seen some...

Thanks. That is a nice and compact little 4-piston caliper. Ideal for the Skoda. I have some experience with DS2500 - very nice pad. Kind to discs as well.
