The float is inside the carburetor bowl and is used to control the level of gasoline within the bowl. There is a float needle attached to the float. As the float falls, the connected needle falls with it and opens to allow more gas in the bowl. As the float rises, the connected needle rises...

The grinder has been working like a champ and gets used a fair amount. Nothing heavy duty really...just frequently. Love the way it takes a while before coming to a complete stop..a feeling of quality. Must admit with each use, I have an extra bit of satisfaction knowing it didn't always look...

This ratchet just froze up...and hasn't seen hard use either in the 6 months I've had it. Will take it back to Sears but am wondering if others have had this issue with Craftsman's "Premium" ratchets?

Good catch Larry. I checked with the seller and the VFD is a 220v unit. The voltage doubler (2XV) is sold as a separate item to use with 110/115v...and not cheap :(. However, I have a dedicated 220v line passing overhead in the basement workshop that is used for a stick welder in the garage...
