Breaker box in utility closet clearance question

Thanks for the replies guys. I am a aware that I can't put anything combustible in the closet, or at least tell the inspector I don't "intend" to put anything combustible in the closet :D. I would like to avoid building a closet altogether, but the location of the panel makes it difficult to do...

Breaker box in utility closet clearance question

So this isn't exactly a garage question as I'm doing this work in the basement, but I believe the question/answer would be the same if I were doing it in the garage. I am adding a room in the basement of our house and it so happens that our main electrical panel is in the corner of the house...

Could you share the link to the pulley you purchased? I am interested in doing this myself, though I have nowhere near the skill you have showed!

How Do You Heat Your Central Wisconsin (or similar climate) Detached Garage/Shop

Well I already have a 500 gal tank for the house so I would just run a line to the garage from there. Where does the 45,000 heat loss number come from? Any thoughts on the IR garage heaters out there? Someone recommended one by Superior Radiant Products which I know nothing about but seems...

How Do You Heat Your Central Wisconsin (or similar climate) Detached Garage/Shop

My bad for being a little salty. I do appreciate the 92000 btu/gal of LP stat. That is helpful to know but yeah almost impossible to really calculate the end cost which is why I was hoping for a a few real world examples just to have an idea.

How Do You Heat Your Central Wisconsin (or similar climate) Detached Garage/Shop

Wow nice, Sublime! I subbed your thread. That is a brilliant solution to using the wood stove and I have a window that would work perfectly for it. But overall, that's a sweet garage setup you have there. Love it!

How Do You Heat Your Central Wisconsin (or similar climate) Detached Garage/Shop

You're missing the point.... I am smart enough that if someone tells me that they have a 24*36 with 9ft walls, R13 with R30 ceiling and with, lets say, "medium usage" and it costed them *** dollars of propane last winter. I am aware that propane prices were for the most part low last winter...

How Do You Heat Your Central Wisconsin (or similar climate) Detached Garage/Shop

Thanks...I realize that, and ALL of that information is in my original post, except the desired temperature which is in the above post. I realize it depends on the outside temperature also, but I'm not looking to price this to a penny--just looking for ballpark figures on what it has costed guys...

How Do You Heat Your Central Wisconsin (or similar climate) Detached Garage/Shop

Thanks for all the responses guys. It seems like a 40k propane (no natural gas avail here) ceiling mounted unit will do the trick for me. I do have a small wood stove I could set up, but hate to lose the floor space as I'm one of those guys that tries to use the garage for...

How Do You Heat Your Central Wisconsin (or similar climate) Detached Garage/Shop

So I just finished insulating my 26x28 detached garage and have been doing some research on sizing a heater to hang from the ceiling. WOW, I cannot believe how many opinions and calculators are out there that offer VERY different BTU recommendations. I've seen everything from 25k to 125k BTU for...

Craftsman King Seeley Drill Press Color

I recently acquired an early 50's vintage Craftsman 100 bench top drill press. I'm debating whether or not to do a restoration. One question I have is has anyone found a readily available paint that closely matches the original color of the King Seeley made units? I really like the look of these...

Tell me about this old Atlas Drill Press

Thanks for the input guys. I guess I'll pass on it. There is a craftsman 150 available also that I may look into. Further drive but I really want a good quality older drill press. I don't trust most of the modern makes... Any other recommendations of makes/models I should look for in the sub...

Tell me about this old Atlas Drill Press

There is evidently a wiring issue, but that doesn't bother me as I'm fairly competent when it comes to electrical repairs. As far as the step pulley goes, I would imagine a step pulley wouldn't be too terribly difficult to locate?

Tell me about this old Atlas Drill Press

I found this drill press for sale locally and am considering purchasing it. It is missing the belt cover and one of the three handles. Are these typically available on ebay or otherwise? Not sure if the belt cover is fairly standard among Atlas drill presses of that vintage, or if it is specific...
