Fixture qty. and spacing is just as important as lumen output. 3 fixtures in a 30 x 40 at any output would be a shadow prone mess. 6 fixtures would be an absolute minimum and without reflective walls that wouldn't be enough either.

WarDamnEagle - Since you're well below the 17.6' spacing criteria, the blend of 12' & 10' spacing won't be an issue.

I'd shift the offending fixture off center as the shadow will likely annoy you more than the off center fixture.
